but i had the same problem as you had with the diff cups
i ordered some new ones and got the old version its a pain in the arse. its like spinning the lucky wheel when you make an order i have 3 packets of the old diff cups and 2 packets of the old spec ball ends. the old version diff cups dont hold up in the truggy so they will now go to waste |

rear diff shims
question guys, I started to rebuild my rear diff, I installed the alum spacers with no shim on the rt side(gearside) and 3 shims on the left..with the cases closed tight by hand but not screwed, it feels VERY notchy but not binding,if remove one shim it's notchy but not as bad(this was dry-no grease) which "feel should I go for? I'm trying to get a feel for it, still waiting for the new case to arrive. will the notchyness eventually go away after the gears get seated? thanks for any info.

I would start with 2 shims on the left and 2 on the right. Then once it breaks in 1-2 gallons go with 3 on the left and 1 on the right |
You've got it bud, I personally would go for the less notchy setup. But I have tried real notchy and it eventually broke in. I've never had no shims on the gear side though. I usually have one fat and one skinny on gear side and five or six assorted on the other side.

holding it together wont give you the true indication yoyu are looking for |
10-4, I'll try the 2-2 set up when the new case comes in and also put the screws in it to try to get a light to medium notchy feel. roughly how many tanks of fuel before the gears wear in?

LMAO:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Why would you be GLAD you have a 1.0? The 2.0 runs circles around that thing in every way. It really isn't that hard to keep the diffs shimmed right. Just a little bit of maintenance, that's all. That's a really silly reason to be glad you don't have a 2.0.
