reason I asked is cause I'm going thru my diffs now and found a crack along one of the screws, don't know how it happened... I bought the truck used a couple of months ago. it has the HD case on it.

I ran them about 5 years ago and they are a quality made piece that does not wear, but heavy.
If you do decide to get them do not use the crap screws that are supplied, they will snap. :(
Another must is to use blue Loctite on clean screws and holes or they back out and jam...I did not have the patience for them once the HD cups came out.
If you want to mess with them, PM me and I will dig them up and save you some $. :)

10-4 I'll keep you in mind, I guess I'll just keep an eye on them see what happens.I'm replacing the ring and pinion, case, gear box cover and will install the alum spacers, I'll mesh the gears on the tight side like I've been reading, can't afford gears at $40 bucks a pop

Right on, no need for the HD cups.

I don't know. I've never had a single issue with the standard cups. They're so much lighter too. I like the feel of a lighter drive train. I had the HD's on my 1.0 and they took FOREVER to spool up.

the crack is from over tightening the cup which will leak to leaking

the Center's do wear more then anything...ive noticed over time the losa3500's do Notch out pretty good and Do need replacing every once in a while,...But for the weight saving's imo they are worth it...If your running a .28 in truggy i would highly suggest the HD cups.

While we're on the subject of diff cases, does anyone know where to get the actual 2.0 roller cases. They are the same part number(LOSA3500) as the old 1.0 cases. Every time I order them from Amain I seem to get the old ones. I'm not sure if losi just doesn't sell them separately or what? The 2.0 spec ones are much improved over the old ones, so I'd rather be buying those. I just can't seem to find any.:weird::confused:

MikeFriery 07-22-2010 10:31 AM

Losa3500 has been the new diff cases for a LONG time.. All the A3500 i order come as the 2.0 cases. I'd say Amain must have had old stock in their warehouse that that has been buried.

Weird. I would have thought they sold enough of them that they would only have the new ones. I guess I'll just have to order some direct from Horizon. Thanks for the info.

I ordered 10 from Amain a little while ago. they are all the same.....

I thought when they change something, they change the part number as well....

Not always sometimes it's a running change like the adj hinge pin brace name part # but there are 2 versions.
