I'm just pissed that another company has now taken my idea and put it production without even knowing where the idea came from.

I contacted KH over 12 months ago with the 16mm hub idea and they said there was no market for it.
now they are selling it with no thanks to me. not even an offer of a free set.
that ruffled my feathers. im sure it would ruffle yours too

J-DUB does a great job and does it for next to nothing. KH charge you $70 for a product that costs them less than $10 to make. im sure if there $60 profit they could have found room to thank the guy that came up with the idea

anyway i dont mean to b!tch about it. it has just pissed me off that there are now 2 companies making a massive profit off it while J-DUB and I try to do the right thing and make it an affordable hopup for the average racer.
If it was your idea making someone else rich you would understand

I dont know how you thought that YOU came up with the idea we have been doing this since the early 90's on the old RC10T when it first came out but nice thinking anyways! If my memory serves me right it was RPM that was the first to produce the RC10T hubs in 91 or 92.

i think he missed the point of what i was saying.
when i asked KH to make me the part last year so that others could have them they weren't interested.
now they are making it with no thanks, and charging through the a$$ for them

mattwoodcraft 06-20-2009 07:46 AM

thanks for pin sizes

 yep those king heads are expensive .....

i just get Tix to mod mine

I had a engineer friend of mine bore out a few hubs for the larger bearings. No charge. Takes him all of five minutes to do a few sets. Just have to have the correct tools and a little jig he made. They work great.

Saying you werent the first to do it with the Losi Hub Either We have been modding the Losi Hub in the Truggy right after the first set of bearings went out after the first run. That was long before anything was ever posted.

I believe TIX was doing it before the 2.0 truggy was released. Actually I know he was. You lose! Sorry. You are wrong.

well im still having the same problem that i had with the 8T1.

I just finished my 4 day state titles on a super blown out track. It track had holes in it that buggy's were getting stuck in.
I used to blow rear outer wheel bearings like crazy in my 8T1 and today in the semi final while running quite well i had one go in my 8T2.0 putting me out of contention
so it looks like im going to have to go and get my rear hubs boared out to fit a 16x8x5 bearing like i did with the 8T1.
when will Losi realize that the whole world doesn't race on flat tracks and that a 14x8x4 bearing cant withstand the up to the presure of a super blown out track with the rotating mass of a truggy wheel on the end, and the added weight and extended leverage of a truggy.

Im so pissed off i didnt get the rear hubs boared out before this event because i new it was a problem with the 8T1. i just figured that there was a reason that they went to standard offset and this might of been it
obviously it wasn't :(

There ya go! The evidence!
