I dont want to sound like a rude prick, but im fair sick of it being called the J-DUB Hub Mod when it was my idea. It was me who found J-DUB to do it for you in the USA so i didnt have to ship them half way around the world.
I came up with this design back in April last year. So far i've had my idea ripped off by 2 mainstream companies (KH and Integy) who wouldn't even know who to thank for the money they have made off someone elses idea. J-DUB does a great job on the mod and i hold no grudge on him doing the work but even he will tell you its not his mod. I just didnt want people to have to pay for shipping from Australia

Losi made a massive mistake with the release of the 8T 2.0 with the 14mm bearing, and it took the commen racer to fix the problem. Not a pro or an engineer on a 6 figure pay packet.
The big companies have no problems stealing your ideas to line there own pockets but have massive problems giving credit where credit is due.
next time ill copyright the idea and charge them for it.

Anyway continue to contact J-DUB if you live in the states. He does an awsome job.
If you live in the Southern Hemisphere and you need the hubs send me a PM
Dont be tempted to waste your money on the aluminium hubs when the plastic ones will last forever.

WOW dude that sucks, i would be pissed...

well im spent to much time wasting others time on useless posts :) so im going to bed

I remember when you proposed the idea and wanted some one in the US to do it....i recommended J-Dub or wb-racer-ace and J-dub jumped on board right away.

No worries Tix the real guy's know what's up.

mattwoodcraft 06-11-2009 08:00 AM

tix that is not very good at all mate i run your other hubs and gear you have made really happy them .......

you will have to send me the details i will need to get some rear hubs done mate also are you able to do some for my buggyu aswell ?

Lars Johnson 06-11-2009 10:08 AM

I replaced the rear hubs with the Losi Aluminum (LOSA1732), and the bearings with Dynamites - 1/2" x 3/4" DYN3022 - 8 x 14 DYN3230. I've got more than 2 gallons on them with 0 issues. I actually cracked a rear wheel last weekend when it landed awkwardly off a big triple - I heard the snap from the drivers stand and thought it was a bearing exploding, but just ended up being the wheel cracking, and the bearings are fine.

Sorry, But that is wrong. You are correct that the shock screws are the correct length for the camber links, however they are also the correct length for the shock ends. You can just swap the screws around, but you will end up with shorter shock screws, and when the screws already back out from vibrations, the longer the better. Just to let you know. You want that extra length for the shock screws.

I do know that you were the origionlal person to do the mod but you didn't mod my hubs. Mine were done by J-DUB thus why I was calling them J-DUB hubs.

All I know is a couple weeks ago I would of DNF'd a 30min A main without that extra 1/8 inch of screw. I guess I need to put some short screws in next to my shoc screws like the 1.0. I really wish losi would have used the 2.0 buggy screw/set screw setup on the truggy.

pooldoc 06-11-2009 02:05 PM

That integy hub looks nice but I see a problem. If it's using 4 8x16 bearings, won't that cause an issue with the inside bearing, on mine the axle slips inside the bearing and the bearing hplds the pin in place.
Also there are only 3 camber link mounting hole, the stock hub has 4. I'm gonna have J Dub do Tix's mod and stay with the lighter plasic hub.

J-Dub did the actual work on the hubs I purchased, so I call them J-Dub hubs. If someone else did the work then they would be their hubs. If I purchased the hubs from you I would call them TIX hubs. I really dont think you want Knig Headz to give you credit for the larger bearing size in their alum hubs do you?? I know a local group of racers that is selling modded hubs that are "your" design am I suppose to tell them to give you a call and a pat on the back? I dont know who ruffled your feathers but my hubs came from J-Dub; therefore, they are called J-Dub hubs.
