all i do is when i clean my car, i clean it with simple green mixed with water, then i spray it off with a air compressor, is i spray the car down with wd 40 and i spray the bearings while there in the car with the wd 40 as well then spray it off again with the air compressor, i spray the bearings as well. i had one bearing fail in my old truggy(1.0) and i had that for about 5 months b4 the bearing failed. when i got the 2.0 i tore the 1.0 down and i still have all the bearins from that in my box because they were all still smooth but ill only use those in emergencies

you should make a gallon, what i have heard is those max life shoes last for ever but ive never used them so i cant say 100%. as far as the composites, i run 2 alum,2 comp, and 2 green, and 2 gold springs and my clutch last about 1.5-2 gallons. but going 2 gallons im at the limit, i measure my shoes after every race and i pull them when it measures 23.5 USUALLY, sometimes at 24.

one shoe i wanna try is the kings head, my dad has those in his buggy and truggy and his shoes are like brand new and he has like 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon on them

Yes please do when you get the chance! That sounds like a good idea. Do you have the part number?

Dynamite or any hard 7075 shoe will last multiple gallon's as long as you dont stall them too much....imo anything higher then gold and your asking for excessive heat and wear...if you cant make a gallon on a clutch your doing something else wrong....leaving 2 composite shoes in with 2 alum will also extend the life of the clutch significantly as the carbon's keep the aluminum from slagging on the bell and causing even more heat and slip....the measurement for the losi clutch is 23.4.....pulling the shoes at 24 is imo a waste...your leaving Alot of usable clutch material behind that can provide another couple race's worth of performance.

The 23.4 that you speak of is that measurement the thickness of the shoe from inside to outside or what?
Currently I am using m2c racing reg med shoes with 2 green/2gold shoes and getting about 1.5 gallons per set

Thanks
Jason

Your bearings should be failing if you are just spraying them with WD-40 and leaving them.

this will tell you for sure if your shoes are on the way out and in need of replacement.

I too just purchased a set of King Headz 7075 shoes. I heard that 2 of the KH and 2 of the Maxlife shoes work pretty good. Anybody know what springs I should go with for this combo? Anybody else tried it?

Can I use the same setup on my 8ight 1.0 buggy or should I use composite shoes mixed with KH or Maxlife?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Default Shock Rebuild

I was changeing out the rear shock shafts. I was running the new shaft up and down when I noticed it was longer than the shock body. Is this normal?

Yes, with the shock boot and cup on it doesn't allow the shaft to go up enough to be a problem.
