Personally I think its pretty evident that the offset/width changes are happening. When losi released some parts on thier site the turnbuckles wer listed as 14-15mm longer than the old ones. They also released 0 offset wheels with the description of 8T 2.0 on them. I was one of the people who complaned about the wheel change at first so I see your delema. However I agree with tom yfz. Losi wouldn't do it unless it was going to help. I think the new truck looks awesome. I will be preordering one as soon as amain or tilted gets them listed. as well as about 6 sets of 0 offset wheels to glue my new tires to (decided not to glue them because of the threat of offset change). So all things considered its not the most ideal situation to have to switch offset but if it is going to be better and faster that is a sacrifice that will have to be made. I kinda like the new shell. with the engine sticking out as it is it should run atleast 10 degrees cooler maybe even up to 20. plus the body is so slammed that it will really let the wing do its job. I just don't see how you are gonna get fuel into it. I mean with a fuel gun. I really liked that about the original body. It was designed/cut so that you could use a fuel gun. other than that the body looks sweet.

They had pics and part #'s for the longer camber links and steering links..
And then the 0 off set wheels ..So what is the issue?
They are making a wider longer truck with 0 offset wheels..I didn't have too many pairs of the old wheels so i truely have no issues with the changes but i can see how some guys might not be to happy .If it makes a better truggy then i'm all for it ..Just can't wait to build it  Or rebuild it if it comes as a Race roller:lol:

Sorry guys, I'm a R/C newbie still, and am confused about the wheel offset thing? What does that mean? and what will it do?

underway 01-04-2009 10:41 AM

the wheel offset changes the width on the truck. SOme trucks(Losi,Jammin) used 1/2 offset wheels to reach the correct width for their trucks. Kyosho,Mugen and a few others used standard or 0 offset wheels plus hub extenders to reach the ideal width. Once the Losi comes out the Jammin will be the only truck left using 1/2 offset wheels. People have tires from the 8ight T 1.0 that they would like to use when the new truck comes out but they wil not be able to with the new truck IF it uses longer arms.

Integra: You are the only one that DOESNT get it. Which is so funny to me.

When you are proven wrong, will you come in here and apologize for your generally arrogant and pompous attitude that you display on every r/c message board?

I believe they will release longer rear springs for it. prolly just using the normal shorter rear springs for the proto.

TIX 01-04-2009 01:30 PM

i doubt they will release new springs

the greys work well and they know it, we all know it.
so there is no need for another part.

ive never seen anyone run softer than the grey anyway

well with the rear shocks being so much longer a longer spring will be needed. it will probably stil be GREY just a longer version. I have seen much softer springs than the greys used. on a tight, smooth indoor track grey is much too soft.

+1
Seeing the boots are longer i think the rest of the rear shock set-up might just be a bit longer.. maybe even the shock body..:weird:

from the looks of it the whole shock(body, shaft, boots and soon spring) is miles longer than the 1.0 shocks. I was hopin for that. I was also hopin for the 1.0 rears to be used in the front(they may be, you can't see that part lol). Look at the preload. the shock body is definately longer. those are rear grey springs on there and they look tiny. that preload is just to take up the extra space that will be filled by a longer spring.
