Just got my KingHeadz rear carriers that use the larger (16x8mm) bearing. Very nice quality wise. I have a few pictures comparing them to the Integy carriers. The Integy carrier shown is for the Losi 1.0 version, the KH is for the 2.0 version.
KH = CNC Milled Integy = Cast KH = 7075 aluminum Integy = Not sure but probably 6061 aluminum KH = 1.0 oz Integy = 1.0 oz Stock = .8 oz KH = 16x8mm Outer bearing Integy = 16x8mm Outer bearing Stock = 14x8mm Outer bearing http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...3/DSC05591.jpg http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...3/DSC05601.jpg http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...3/DSC05602.jpg |

So do you think this will take care of the bearings blowing out? How is the fit with the axles alot more tight?
|
I hope it helps with the bearing problems but I don't see the axles fitting any different since the id of the bearings hasn't changed? Maybe the width of the hub is different, I don't know yet. I'll know later tonight for sure when I get home.

the larger bearing is a complete fix for the bearings blowing out. I have been doing this 8x16x5 mod to my standard losi hubs for over a year now and i have only changed the bearings twice in that time.
i have been running them on the 8T2.0 since the week the came out and i havent changed them once yet there is no need to waste $65 on a set of kingheadz ones when you can just get the stock plastic ones modded for so much less. I have been running the plastic ones on the 8T with the M2C 4mm hinge pins and i have never broken one. i am running the plastic ones on the 8T2.0 and they havent broken either. the aluminium ones just arn't needed. they dont retain the flex that the plastic hubs have which will change the way the rear of the car handles. that is why you can see the losi ones are hollow on the side and the kingheadz ones arn't dont wast your money. just PM J-DUB for the US or myself in Australia and we can do the mod for you |
and jdub does an awsome job. they look factory. i tried to do the modd myself. for what it costs to have him do them it's not worth the time or the aggravation. also he gets them back super fast. mine was a 4 day complete turn around. thanx again jdub

I'll mod my own stock hubs now that I have the KHz ones. I usually go through a few sets of hubs a year, so I feel I didn't waste my money.:eek: If I don't like them, I will put the modded stock ones on and sell these. That's what eBay is for. I have a big race coming up and by the time I make a tool to hold the hubs I will be short on time. I'm going through this whole truck and doing all the upgrades listed here before I even drive it.: Everything just came today, the 1.0 servo spring, longer screws for the camber link and wing mount, aluminum servo saver arm, aluminum servo arm, skid plates and adjustable toe brace. I raced my old Losi last year almost every weekend and had 2 failures all season. I like to try and make my cars as bulletproof as possible. If that's wasting money, oh well. I'll just make more.:lol:

Rim Rub
Hey guys. Going to run my new 8ight-T 2.0 at the track for the first time tomorrow. I notice that it seems like the Losi rims hit the hub or something at full steering lock, what's the deal with that? Is there a fix? I'm considering grinding down a little material but I'm really surprised Losi would ship it like that...was it an early batch thing or is it a known issue?
Any advice would help. |

Any advice would help. This is where the outer edge of the rim wall is rubbing the arms, atleast for me. http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/d...Y/Losi-arm.gif |
