also what plug are you using?

and should i be worried about stripping the piece on the motor or just the shaft? cuz i dont care about the shaft honestly i just dont wanna mess up my motor

Does anyone know the stock ride height on the sc8's? I just put on big bores and I cant remember what it was set at. I dont think measuring the gap between the collar and the top (the way they do in the manual) will be accurate because im using ofna springs and the shocks seem different

I am using a McCoy MC-8, the other guy is using a O'Donnell ODO100, both are in the medium heat range. I would suggest either of those, or a OS R5.

You won't strip out the motor, just the shaft...just don't allow a worn shaft to slip in the starter hole, if you sit there and burn the shaft in the socket you will wear out the engine.

My truck came with the rear arms level, and the front a bit higher than level...maybe as much as 5mm higher.

ok so i got a heat gun today and i tried warming it up that definlty lets it spin more freely. now my question is the book that came with it said turn the low speed needle in all the way and then back it off 6.25turns but thats not right at all (assuming each turn is 12 hours) that makes the screw stick out of the carb about 1/8th inch it that makes sence so i guess im asking for the first time starting where should i set the needles and please dont just say stock bacause i already changed it fromm stock and i dont know wat stock is

I know a lot of guys like the buggies, and I've driven a 1/8 scale and yes they work way better, but if your into the scale look this SC8 truck is bad ass!!! I had a Slayer and I have a Slash. I SOLD the Slayer because it was a joke next to the SC8, so now all I race is the SC8 and the Slash. The Slayer broke every few laps. I do drive hard, but the SC8 handles it. And I know people dont like Nitros, yea they got pros and cons, but the sound and having to do pit stops like the real thing is cool. I come from desert racing in trucks so this is right up my alley and yea I thought It was a lot of money but now I'm over that, you have to drive one on a track. If more people had these and they get class's for them I bet a lot more people would watch these instead of the buggies. They look way to cool going around the track.

the low speed needle is the one on the part of the carb that slides back and forth and the high speed needle is the one that sticks up. in general the high speed needle is the one you will adjust the most low speed shouls only need small adjustments. hope this helped.

ahhh crap didnt understand the post at 1st you should never need to touch the middle needle and on the high speed needle to get it started just lean it out (turn in quarter turn) and let it run alittle and keep checking temps. break in temps should be around 175-200 deg. just do small revs to the engine burn one tank and then shut it down and put the piston to the bottom and let it cool down complete. repete this for about 3-4 tanks and then race tune the engine butt make sure it still has some smoke comming out the engine at high speed runs just take it easy for the 1st gallon. im good at tuning engines butt not so good at explaining it lol.

Ruggydriver what is the altitude where you race. I live in Littleton Colorado and it is around 5500 feet and my low speed is at 4 1/2 and my high speed is at 3 1/4. If your close to sea level you should be at 6 to 6 1/2 turns out on the low speed and 4 1/3 to 5 turns on the high speed. The low speed will be about 1 turn out past flush. Hope that helps.

I've been pretty happy with what my has taken. Cased some jumps, did some pirouettes, bounced it end over end dozens of times...not one breakage. Not only that but I've had very little instances where I'm railing around the track during practice and had groups of people watching intently and even cheering at points like I've had running this thing...

Way cool...

I ran mine the other day with a Slayer, not even a comparison...like most Traxxas stuff, they aren't race cars...good for the backyard.

Midrange is usually flush, i found mine hard to start aswell, try removing the remote glow lead then put the ignitor straight on top of the plug, mine was also to lean from factory it would start then stall which i thought it may have been rich but instead it was starving, it was only starting cause i would prime the line and carby, once the excess fuel burnt it would stop. just make sure u r gettin plenty of fuel. Hope that helps:batman:
