I agree. I spent under $100 and got every FT, RC8T part for mine. The .28 is an awsome engine for a RTR. I ported mine, look a few pages back for pictures, and just ran another 10 tanks though it today with not one issue!!! I ran it at a 1/8th scale track today but normally run it on a track setup for Slashes so the track is verry scale. I was able to get 4 laps from each tank. Consider the fact that ths track is huge!!!!!!!

I didnt care for the radio though since I run a DX3R with all my RCs but the radio is going on ebay soon. The proceeds will go towards a .21 fund since IMO the .28 has way too much torque.

You had the Spektrum quit again and now a steering knuckle was it taking a beating or did it break when it shouldn't have ? ....Gary

i was still complaining about the stock radio
i picked up a dx3s this weekend before hitting the track

struck ran great and the 5/7/1 set up was working great

i beat the hell out of it... but i broke on a simple step up step down jump
broke at the weak point in the knuckle..
order new ones already..will keep a spare

but back to the set up..that think was handling well ..5/7/1 in the dif 50wt front 35 wt rear
rear sway bar was adjusted to be soft...
it kicked out in the turn and it was predictable under power out of the turns ... i like ...

That is how it usually goes when you think it will break it doesn't just weakens it enough to break on something simply. I think I will try that set up do you run it on an 1/8th scale style track or a short course style? I only have 1/8th scale style tracks to run on just wonder if that would change the setup that you run. Thanks Gary

1/8 style

I have not changed mine yet but the alum. ones will wear alot better meaning last longer and should give it a little more hit off the line because they will grab better on the clutch bell with that said I am still going to run my stock ones for a while
