Ha ha.. Yeah, the MT4 G3 tires are big (I have an MT4 G3..) Good MT tires though - light for their size and long lasting.. What conversion set-up do you have? How is your steering servo mounted? I have the original parts, which I guess I could cut? I also have a bunch of AE RC8 trays - carbon and plastic, I could cut...

I have the brakes installed on my center diff too. I guess I can just take those off?.. Then install the motor with the RC8.2e motor mount, with the motor rear right, servo front right, and the tray on the left side like on the RC8.2e?...

How 'bout a coupla' pics TXKawboi?...

What about this?:

http://www.rc-toy.de/cosmoshop/cgi-b...params=k_sxg4d

It's a rebranded Integy kit for the MBX6. I've heard the Integy mount works.. I'm skeptical of Integy, but how could they screw up a motor mount?....

Some where on this thread they say the Integy mount works. Before buying from rc-toy do a search on them. One of those sites (looks a lot like rc-toy) came up as a scam when I searched for it. It had a different name but looked exactly. rc-toy might be legit.

Don't be afraid of drilling the holes in the chassis. I just converted my MBX6 over using the parts from the MBX6e, had to drill 5 or 6 holes. Wasn't a big deal, took me all of twenty minutes to drill and counter sink. Everything bolts up great.

I'm currently using the RC-Monster conversion but I've read about other solutions such as the RC8 motor mount which I verified the holes lining up perfectly. The stock rx box should obviously work and a servo tray would be the only mod on that side. I think most battery/ESC trays could be modded to work. I do have an 801X buggy en route and I plan on using my old RC8 motor mount. I got the MBX7 Eco packet similar to the MBX7T packet that I mentioned earlier. I'll mod the battery/ESC tray along with the rx and servo box. I'll see if I can figure out how to load pix and post a couple from my 801XT.

I tried the integy mount and it doesn't work. Not sure how other people got theirs to work but for me, once mounted the diff wouldn't spin. The way the bearing fits in the integy mount it puts too much force on the diff making it not spin..as well as the top brace didn't line up.

The rc-monster is the way to go. it makes for a clean no fuss install. It is hard to justify spending a $100 for a conversion for a truggy that only costs $100 but then you have realize that it was priced as a fire sale kit to liquidate them as fast as Tamiya could. If you plan on even racing this kit or taking it to a track you're going to drop near $100 in wheels and tires...

Default 801XT with RC Monster e-conversion minus the battery/ESC tray

I used an old RC8.2e battery/ESC tray because the battery tray was a little larger to accommodate a variety of batteries.

TxKawBoi, how hard was the rc8.2e battery tray to mount?

I noticed looking at the rc8.2e motor mount has a raised notch on the bottom. How do you get around that?

The battery tray isn't difficult at all. I shaved down the two rear "studs" on the servo tray that are used to hold it in place. One screw was used on the servo tray portion and one screw was used on the battery tray portion. As for the motor mount with the "notch" or "stud", I'm just going to use longer screws to secure it.

Isn't it perhaps a bit questionable to run huge MT tires on a truck with notorious easy-to-break arms? I really like the MT4 G3 tires for bashing, but anything smaller, it's hard to find something with a similar and similarly long lasting tread... Normal truggy race tires are toast after running on pavement...

Also, if I get for ex. the AE mount and tray, what's the solution for the servo and receiver box?

I'm looking at pics of the RC8.2e mount, and yeah, what's with the uneven bottom side? Do you need some kind of raised mount for the center diff?

Glad you noticed that too. The associated car uses a raised diff piece that fits under the mount to make it even. Not sure if you can use it on the tamiya or not??? Thinking I'm just going with the monster kit, no guess work.

I can get the whole Integy kit for €34 shipped... I just need to know if it sucks or not.. How can they screw up a motor mount?

Just broke down and ordered the monster kit. Have about 230 bucks in it now and still need some wheels, servo and maybe a 150a esc. Not sure if I want to use one of my sc8's or not?

thats what I went with. The monster kit did great. I sometimes regret selling it. I started seeing the parts were becoming scarce.
