CoryD suggests the ofna mod with the ofna outdrives OFN40596, but he says you need a bench grinder to take some material off as they are slightly longer than the MP9 outdrives. I dont like have to mock up stuff either but I may consider this alternative if my outdrives become an issue as others have expressed.

Guys check this out http://www.nitrohouse.com/Car-Parts-...duct_info.html

It looks the same I compared my Kyosho out drive to the x3 when a friend was building his x3 kit and looks exactly the same. I haven't tried to mount it yet though.

Default Servos

Anybody use Futaba BLS 351 and 352 servos in their MP9 with a forward mounted LiPo battery (7.4 volt) without a voltage regulator. Specs say 6.0 volt.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I was freshening up my car for this season and noticed a part number change on the 93mm swing shafts KYOIFW404B.

Ofna outdrives are pricey at 15-16 bucks for two

Copied from Kyosho's site about that number:

These are the revised 93mm long drive shafts for the MP9. These replace the origional KYOIFW404's which may have been produced with faulty heat treating. The new part number just indicates that they are a new batch and probably have revised heat treating.

hey guys,im new at rc-tech, but driving for 6 years...
I did not get through all the thread, only some part of it.
well, for you'r drive shaft problem, what iv'e done, i use the losi Heavy Duty Lightened Outdrive ( no need any mod for it)
and use the 90.7mm drive shaft from the old 777wc.
and i dont have asingel problem with it...
also, the outdrive is bit lighter and 2 mm longer.
i ust is both for front and rear

the outdrive: LOSA3553

the drive shaft: KYOIFW333

I'm glad to see that people do not give up easily on the car.
In recent years, I changed a lot of brand, losi, mugen, xray, agama, tamiya,jq,ant its keep goin...
When I finally listened to my old friend and took the mp9, I realized that all the time and money I had burned the previous cars was simply unnecessary, the mp9 is completely different league from the rest of the cars Iv'e droven before.

If only I was smart enough to make this move a year ago, when i was in Thailand at the world's :/

regards

Eli

p.s
it was url from amainhobbies but from some Reason i cant post url yet :/

yes the futaba BSL451 and BSL351 can take from lipo's too, mine have been for over 2 years. I no switch, no regulator, just plug and go.

you guys should not be having problems with the outdrives.. we got some from the KA warehouse a few months back, and they are still in Cody's practice car. Normal wear, nothing horrible. Anything you buy on-line should be perfectly fine..
