Well, he didn't say that. The interviewer asked him about the red anodizing that his dad (Paul King) did for him and he was like, "yeah, we thought it would look cool and nobody's ever had an all red Kyosho car before". That doesn't mean they're going to start producing their parts in Red. If so they would have done it on the WC edition. Plus the red would show scratches too easily. Gunmetal looks best after a beating.

A colored anodize would be cool, but I doubt Kyosho will mass produce parts that way. Although it would be rather simple, just change up the anodizing chemicals. Personally, I'd like to see them improve the anodizing overall, mine is worn off on parts of the shock bodies. I guess that's to be expected though. The bottom of my chassis is bare metal, no anodizing left, again, to be expected. Anyone do a powder coated chassis? How much thickness does it add and is it durable?

I got my car today...it looks good but needs a chassis soon, I had a bent hingepin on the car but no worries as a NIP complete set of Lunsford hinge pins were included, I went ahead and put them all on.....rest of my parts will be here tomorrow...looking forward to hitting the track!
Nigel.....do you have a Futaba stock t/b servo horn you can send me by chance?

$65 shipped
this body is brand new, with brand new logos as well.....this was painted by Darkside Designs(Tebo's painter) the body is pre-cut perfectly for a mp9......exact fit.....dialed scheme as well, would look great on the track but I run my scheme only.
The mark above the Ko Propo logo is just a fingerprint smudge.....

Can anyone tell if Tebo is running Red or Orange springs @ Neo?
They look to be red.
And I doubt Kyo will do a 'red' edition car; they already did the WC edition.
As to the anodizing, Hard Anod. is much tougher than standard color anodizing. Everyone loves the colors, but it isn't durable. Hard anod. actually adds a bit of surface hardness, is thicker and tougher. But because of how it works, it doesn't color as nicely and when it is colored, the color often fades quickly. So most hard anod. is a gunmetal gray tone (which is the natural color). Black is the second best option.
Powdercoating is useless for us IMO. It's thicker, heavier and less durable to abrasion (in our applications).
