Hello,

Just picked up the X6 kit, and was wondering if there are any hop ups that anyone suggests?

Also I understand the buggy is very durable but my LHS does not stock mugen parts. I currently am going to order front and rear arms, hubs, shock shafts, and CVD's. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Edit: Also what clutch setups work well? Should I stick with the 1.0 springs with aluminum shoes?

aluminum front upper arm brace. 1.0 springs work well almost any surface. i use the dynamite clutch shoes. stock work well too. if you are on a high grip track you could go with 1.1 springs if it feels spongy out of corners. then diff oils and all that stuff comes into play. just get a set of both springs to try out and see what works on your track. stock 1.0 works just fine.

Morgoth,

That is the piston setup we run indoors on Tyler's car. Tyler's setup for indoors is freakin dialed. His out door is really good and going to test some things to see if it makes it even better.

Tyler's buggy lid does have to be either snapped shut or pushed shut but his M-Spec truggy closes on its own and seems to seal good.

Andy,

+1 on upper aluminum arm brace, then just normal spares. Mugen "hard" shoes are really good too.

This was with the stock gears, I have the underdrive gears ordered. I drive ON THE GAS most all the time, deep into the corners, rotate and back on the gas. I tell you this because (IMO) driving style is a HUGE factor in what kind of set ups you try. Hope this helps.

funny I mentioned at the track we tend to think alike on setups, cause my mugen woke up when I switched to a 7-10-7 setup sans orings. any lighter and the car was diffing out and killing acceleration. Although looking back at how slick things were at raceworld a lighter fluid at least front and rear would of helped alot mid-corner.

the mugen diffs without orings difiniately operate lighter than a kyosho or odonnell diff with the same fluid. I guess the smaller gearsets inside?
That was with NO little O rings behind the spider gears. I think u r right, I should have went down to 5 in the front and rear with 7 in the center. The track just didn't have any bite and the car was a little to agressive for those conditions.

I just uploaded editable sheets for both the Truggy and Buggy, and several of Travis Amezcua's setups, will add more as time permits!

use the novarossi short header for the mugen with it instead of the one that comes with the pipe.

You cant use the mugen or novarossi headers with the werks pipes. The werks pipes use 4 springs to attach to the header, and the nova and mugen headers only use 3 springs.

your right. I forgot about the 4 springs on the werks pipes. I personally run the 9901 with short header on my B6 in my mugen.

i have some blue aluminum shoes that were given to me at the track but they are just a itty bitty bit long (rubbing the clutch bell). Can i take the 3 small washers off that sit under the shoes? Or do they have to be there? If i cannot take those off i guess i have to grind the shoes down.

I made a purchase from racemugen this weekend. I got a personal call from them telling me one of the items were on backorder. Now that's impressive!! I had several options of getting my items, so I choose to get my other things now, and get the backorder item when it come!! I really appreciate the call. Much props to RACEMUGEN!!
