Associated Truggy Shocks:
Was looking at trying a set on my '09 XT8 XRAY. I feel the XRAY shocks are lacking. Reading above, it seems Associated changed shafts and shock ends? Which are the shocks to get?
Also, currently running the XRAY violet springs, will those fit the Associated shock bodies?
Thanks for any help.

Does anyone have the total length of the rear truggy shocks? What about the fronts? Trying to get a feel for how much, if any, longer are the Associated shocks compared to the XT8 shocks.

Hey guys.
I just bought an rc8t roller and have a WERKS
B7 so a .21 engine here that will go in it. I was wondering what kind of gearing should I be looking at? Mainly for bashing and also running on a reasonably tight track with only really one straight about 30-40 metres long.
Any help on this would be much appreciated. Won't get the truggy till Monday-wednesday so the engine is just sitting there with after run in it.
Thanks alot!
Matt

Will be getting RC8T soon with Tekno V4, got some questions:
1. Are RC8(.2) parts backwards compatible with RC8T? The arms are obviously not, but the rest looks pretty similar?
2. I assume that RC8.2 is basically RC8 with AE upgrades. It would stand to reason that some or all of those upgrades could be installed on RC8T as well. Which would you recommend the most
3. Any spares in particular I should stock up on that are prone to breaking? Mind you, I won't be racing my RC8T, but rather bashing it on 6S.
Thanks.

Forget 8.2 parts. I sold my 8.2 partially because it was so imcompatible with my RC8T and SC8.

The shock towers, shocks, suspension arms, camber links, steering links, chassis, and chassis braces do not go back and forth due to the fact that the truck runs significantly different geometry and is a much larger vehicle.
As far as spares for bashing. I would say grab a set of C-Hubs or two. I would probably also carry a complete set of drive shafts as electric motors can be rather harsh on them lol
I have raced my nitro RC8T at four or five big race weekends and have not replaced a single part. Hell the truck is hardly ever touched as I just use it as a filler class to keep me busy during big races.

Since RC8* share the same front/rear carriers and steering blocks, I was thinking it'd be a good idea to upgrade to Hot-Racing aluminium counterparts (front hubs, rear hubs, steering block). I've had very positive experience with HR products so far, and imagine their quality holds for their AE upgrades. I would have preferred to go all King Headz, but KH don't seem to make front hubs
Other upgrades I have planned so far are DE Racing mud guards and T-Bone Racing front and rear skids/bumpers.
Should I be worried about stock turnbuckles and hinge pins, or upgrade to Lunsford straight away? What about shock towers? The stock ones are 5mm 7075, so I don't imagine they'll break or bend easily.
Drive shafts are a problem... My E-Revo's axles stopped braking only after I've installed $150 5mm spring steel bearing-articulated CVDs. Are there any similar upgrades for RC8T?
Thanks.

The RC8T is almost bullet proof honestly, it rarely breaks.
Adding to the compatible between each other discussion, I also believe the rear Truggy and 8.2 shocks are the same, the front are different though.
