Can you measure the thickness of the insert.

These measurements? Battery died so had to use back up calipers.

I measure 9mm on mine. Something is off somewhere, I would just contact Tekno tomorrow.

Mine finally arrived at customs, but I only have time to pick it up Monday next week :(.

Yup same issue and that's my post on URC. Using a HW 4274 2200KV. The motor slid in flawlessly with the old TKR5211 insert on my ET48.3. Have a TKR5211 coming to compare the 2 mounts.

Well the Tekno MT410 monster truck went to the track on the weekend at a small club xmas break up party, I entered it into the EP BUGGY class for the day to see how it went around a track.

Box stock set up with the only changes being that I removed the huge wheels and bolted up a set of Proline truggy soft hole shots and adjusted the ride height to 40mm.

The truck takes a little to get used to on the track but in the end the result was the same, TEKNO MT410 MONSTER TRUCK WiNS A1 AND A2 FINAL TO TAKE THE WIN.........TEKNOTASTIC RESULT

Wow, looked amazing. It didn't seem to be challenged by the track at all. Some of the buggy's wanted to just get out of your way.

Man I think thats pretty awesome, its like a mix between a Truggy and an MT, lol.

This may be a great club racer.

What was your Motor / Battery combo?

With the tip from Pauly and others here i installed the Tekno 4x10mm Button Head Droop Adjustment Hex Screws TKR1238. These are such a great idea. You realize how much when you install them. They don't dig in the chassis due to the head being on the bottom of the arm and the hole in the screw is genius for adjustment from above.

all i did on mine was install the included normal 'droop' screws in from the bottom. there is plenty of space to access them from below so there is no need to spend the money on the normal 1/8 droop screws.

That's awesome Sam, looks great.

Another strange discrepancy in kits that we just discovered on URC... There are two different tray sets being shipped.

Some have a style where the ackerman link nut rubs on the chassis tray while others have a revised tray that is cut down there to allow clearance, but this tray set also has a gap in other side where the rx box chassis screw hole goes. per an email to me from tekno they said this was a new change. i don't know why they would have removed that chassis connection by the rx box.

Original tray? - cred to Pauly for the pic

revised(?) tray design (I have this one) - cut to allow clearance of the ackerman link in front, but something new and strange in the rear of the right side tray - RX box screw hole is no longer secured to the chassis. tekno says no screw goes here anymore but that bugged me. I just used a long screw in order to reach the rx cover hole. (I'll add a nut on top)

Nice driving! That was fun to watch. I like the track layout simple but fun.

I wouldn't be worried about that. there are what, 7 other screws that hold that side pod on, including (3?) larger long ones. Including 1 of the larger ones on teh rx box on the inside. That tab is meant for the cover to screw down onto. Although adding the longer screw through like you did doesn't hurt anything.

You are 100% correct in nothing to worry about strength or rigidity wise. Plenty of other screws. I had to do the same thing. My concern is the differences in side guards amongst a few other issues. If it were not a Tekno I woukd chalk it up to who knows what kind of error. In a top level brand like Tekno it shouldn't happen.just my opinion.

slowrider 12-13-2016 08:04 AM

Same here with the tray: its different then my SCT ant ET trays.

We have now seen a few people having trouble with the motor mount and a "surprise" with the tray. Al in all OK but not top notch (especial the motor mount issue is a PITA).

Matthew_Armeni 12-13-2016 09:53 AM

The side guards with the missing screw boss and cut down front section are the updated guards and will be included in all future kits. Somehow hold stock got mixed into some of the MT kits. As far as the motor mount insert we're looking into it. So far it's only been a couple of instances.
