It should be okay but HPI recommends a "C" rating of 25 or higher..

Tried my xs out today on 3s and it is beast! I didn't get my pinion today but when I do I'm going to hook my gps to it. Hope to get close to the 65 mph claim.

I couldnt imagine running this truck on 3s Sounds ballistic! I have a MMP and a TORO 4 pole 540 3900kv and its stupid on 2s.
But Im glad to see this thread at the top. I have alot of RC's and owned well over 100. I think this is at the top of the list of "sweet rides" I mean its all stock, except for TRX short camber links up on the turn buckels. And I have litterally beat this thing to death! And it never quits! Just tumbles about 20 yards and comes back for more! I stripped a diff gear once. But s*** happins

My only complaint is when mine tumbles the shock towers leave indentions in the body front and back. Going to pad the towers somehow.

Put a layer off shoe goo where the towers are hitting. But let it have a full 24 hrs to fully cure. And maybe for a bit of extra padding a strip of duck tape over the Goo after drying. Should solve that issue.

They have quite a few hopups out for the xs and their stuff is ment to be good.No other company seem to be bothering with the xs which is a shame.

Changed my idler gear and pinion today and noticed some wear on the rear out drive that connects the dog bone to differential. I'm assuming it may be from the 3s battery with the stock gearing. Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks mate.I havent had a chance to run with it fitted yet tho.The war on the outdrive is a common thing on the xs.They wear very quickly and are made of very soft metal.Quite a few have changed to the Hot Racing ones with mixed results.

Tried my xs out today with the correct idler and pinion to run 3s and it flies! I live by a hwy and across the road from my house is a long stretch of flat land. I could run back and forth and easily keep up with the traffic going up and down the road! The power now is less violent and more controllable. I stuck a 2s in it to see how that would be and it's still a lot fun even with the 3s gearing.
I also installed my new 5646 hitec waterproof servo. I recommend a better than stock servo to anyone with an xs. Its not as fast as say a traxxas 2075 but it has a lot more torque and makes it easier to control the mini savage when it starts to lose traction and want to spin out. I absolutely love this little truck!
