RC4wd FINALLY released the softer compound rumble tires.(only took a year of convincing them....)

So why not run on my sorta 'scale' truck.

I should note I shaved the edges of the tires so they arnt as 'pointy' as they come from the factory

Hey guys, wanted to see if anyone can help? Starting my first clod build and I have a esc/motor question. Have two sensored esc's with a 5.5 540 can limit. I think i know how to wire them up correctly but something seems to easy. Can someone give me clear instructions on how to wire the esc's together along with sensored 540 motors? I greatly appreciate the help!!

First and most important thing, do the esc's you are using allow for programming the motor to run backwards/reversed?
This necessary for the rear motor and if your esc does not allow for this you are dead in the water.

Next is whether you are using a 4-channel radio, or 2 channel.
If 4 channel, use an aux channel to slave channel 2.
If 2-channel, use a servo Y-harness to plug both esc's into channel 2

Sometimes it's necessary to disconnect one of the bec's, I usually pull the rear one, and use the front bec as that system will see less load, but it's better to use both if possible for more servo power, or disconnect both and use an external bec, especially if running high-powered servo(s).

One battery or two?
If a single, you will need to make a Y-harness to plug both esc's into it.
G-force actually makes some lipo's that have dual plug-ins, so that's an option as well.

Oh, and 5.5T is not too much for a clod, don't forget, they have 30:1 gearing stock.

Andy, thank you for getting back to me! This is what i plan to use.
Qty 2 - Hobbywing 120amp V2.1 Sensored Esc's
Qty 2 - Hobbywing V10 Sensored 8.5 Motors (Might go 6.5!)
Qty 2 - Reedy 2s 7000mah 65c lipos
Yes, both esc's are able to reverse motor direction!I am also using a 3 channel radio but i was going to use a y harness for both esc's into channel 2. I also saw a post by you from another thread about using a h-harness for running two lipos. I like that idea and i will try that out first go. Working on getting the axles dialed now, upgrade parts from Rc4wd and Cpe! Next i will choose a chassis, Not sue if i will do a tuber or??? Looks like CPE has a new chassis they are going to release on the 18th of this month. Think i will wait to see what it is before i make a chassis decision .

Thank you again for your help, i really appreciate it! Let me know if you have more info!

Here's my current beasty, I call it T2.
CPE Terminator chassis w/swaybars
custom cantilever suspension
4WS, with dual 200oz servos
EVX-2 with titan monster 550's (e-revo)
adjustable motor mounts with 19t pinions and running on 4S..... it's fast.

That cant system is awesome. Never thought something like that could be done on a terminator chassis

Andy, NICE!!!!! That is pretty much what I am shooting for. As of right now I should have what I want done with the axles by this Friday. As for the chassis selection, gonna wait till Monday and see what CPE's new chassis looks like? Flashback? I also had another idea about running the hobbywing 550 3656 Xerun 4700 motors. That is what I use to race with in my sct! Super fast and plenty of torque. Hey, you guys know what's going on with new era? Looks like the site was taken down?

No idea on new era.... is that the one based in New Hampshire?
If so, I "thought" they went under/sold-out. I could be wrong though.......
(I'm in NH BTW)

As for the canti's,
I did not think it was gonna' work.... but I was determined to fix this build or kill it.
Proir to the canti's I was having to use 3/4" wideners and it was too much stress, causing wear and also I hated the look of it, the 5/8" TTR wideners were as wide as I wanted to go, but getting the shocks to clear those 550's with motor mount plates was getting ridiculious....
Much happier with the current 1/2" RC4WD mini-wideners.
She does scoot pretty good, I've clocked it @ 26mph on dirt, need to try again on asphalt.
I relocated the electronics tray to the bottom and made a battery tray out of it, the electronics are bolted to the side plates.

As for your build, I would not put brushless 550's in a clod..... just don't..... you'll be sorry.
Some nice hi-KV 540's are what you want..... trust me on that.

Here is the build that preceded T2.... I called this one "The Super-Stocker".
It used mostly stock parts, including the ladder bars, even the stock motors. ESC was a MMP, and it was running 4S when these pics were taken.
