Alex- Are their any other dirt oval tracks in Region 8? Does Omaha still have a dirt oval. Fastlane took out their dirt oval to build a larger carpet track so we don't have a place to race this winter.
Checkered Flag is an outdoor track that is a few miles from Kansas Speedway and has a great owner. I will make sure that Tim reads this post.

Novelty, MO has a dirt oval.
Omaha, has an awesome carpet track, but no dirt oval. That may change in the future.
I think theres one near witchita, too , but I may be wrong.

There is a group from KC going down saturday night to run dirt oval at Candle Creek in Nevada.Saturdays are open rules so cars setup for Checkered Flag rules can run-trucks,modifieds,and mini-t's.They will also be running the 20 turn 2wd full body cars. It's great fun and well worth the drive(about 90 miles from KC).

Hey Randy-how have you been? Send me an email so I can let you know when a bunch of us from KC are going down to Nevada(not so far for you!)-there are a few going this saturday night.
The 2wd late models at Checkered Flag are buggy tires, late model bodies with flat upper deck(no wedge bodies),2" spoiler,no side dams, and open mod/brushless.I have several in the works-XX,XXX,and Schumacher. We are also still running the 4wd latemodels-TC chassis,19turn,7" side dams.
Hope you can make it out-Kris

The 4wd mini like the rc18t are very cool. We have some racing in Hutch at HP Hobbies. They have used the latemodel bodies and the sprint bodies with home build wings....that things are cool looking....what a fun class.
HP Hobbies will be putting in a Dirt oval indoors in the next few weeks. It is cool to have Dirt Oval grow in KS. We are trying to follow in the success of what you and your racers have started. Look for some of us from this area to attend some events at Checkered Flag!
Does anyone in the area run any nitro stuff? We have been asked about nitro and I did not know what your track does about that? Any help would be great!

Glad to hear there is another Dirt Oval going in. We are very happy with the turnouts we've had. It couldn't have happened without the support of all the club members and our sponsors. We welcome you all to come and join us next season. We run no nitro, we are strictly a electric track. Hopefully some of the Hutch racers can make it up for the Kansas Dirt Oval Championship. Hopefully we can get another great write up in RC Driver again.
