Hi RLS

Hey thanks for the advice. I am working with my LHS to get the G3 parts ordered. I think I will go to the aluminum Front Beam to replace the GRP one I broke. Corally USA told me that the Aluminum Front Beam will work with the G3 chassis.

I just got the car from my friend who runs the SP12M and has the aluminum Wishbones. I ran it once Wed night then broke so I had to finish the heats with my Hara 12th scaler. I do think the G3 was real smooth even with center shock installed. I need to be creative and make a antenna mount ball stud taller for the shock so I clear the battery bracket.

Are you looking to sell any G3 parts? Are you in the US?

Thanks

Hey RinkRat - once you get my old car set up and working, I'll want it back!!

It will be fun to run on the carpet again this fall. Let me know when you want to set up a motor night and dyno and check your springs.

Now all I have to do is to get you using Pro-Trak chargers and we can always swap stuff!!

Let me know if I can help!

By the way, my 12M Euro is great on the outside asphalt track. For me the graphite T-plate works the best. Yes, I know this should not be the best, it just works with my set up and driving style.

Hey RLS

I think I have a problem!

I compared the G3 chassis I have to a SP12M GRP version and my FrontBeam does not match up with the hole pattern of the 12M!

I am thinking the Aluminum Frontbeam will not work here!

Rinkrat99,

As I mentioned before, the G3 front end is different than the 12M's design. Parts are not going to interchange without alot of modification. The G3 aluminum front beam however would be a direct fit. My suggestion....replace what you have to with stock parts, I would use the G3 Graphite front beam and be sure to run a camber bar and have fun racing
, (while saving for the new Corally SP12XWE which hopefully will be released soon!)

To answer your previous question, sorry but no I don't have any G3 manuals left or I would be happy to send you a copy.

In a word....no. For a time there was some metal size-reducing sleeve washers that you pressed into the rear bearings to allow the use of Associated-type rear axles but they weren't very popular.

Rinkrat99,

If you are serious about running the G3 for awhile, and you already ordered the 12M aluminum front beam but don't want it, PM me and maybe we can work out a parts swap to keep you going.

Thanks.

1/12th is just starting a revival here in Brisbane Australia and I am just getting into it after not having raced 1/12th since the 1980's. I have a SP12M and was thinking I would fit a standard servo but I think I need a smaller one - any ideas. Would a Futaba S3002 fit ok ?

Hi RLS

I have not ordered any parts yet. I have three options now.

1) Use the aluminum G3 Front Beam $15 at Stormer Hobbies
2) Use the Graphite Front Beam $15 at Stormer
3) CAD the existing frontbeam and have a local guy do an aluminum or graphite version maybe strengthen the steering block mounts.

Thanks for the advice.

BTW - I also run the Hara and Quad12, the Q12 creator is a local guy here and may do the machining of parts for me

Does anyone know the Shore ratings for the 1/12 Corally tires? Or what tires does everyone run on mid and high bite carpet?
Thanks.
