For those who are interested in some numbers about weight saving, check below :-)

Standard 44mm steel swing shafts : 9,1gr (per set)
Aluminium 44mm swing shafts : 3,6gr (per set)

Standard TA07 geardiff outdrives : 11,0gr (per set)
TRF419 Aluminium geardiff outdrives : 3,9gr (per set including swing shaft protectors)

Standard metal 850 bearing (part nr BB12) that goes into the geardiff : 1,0gr (per set)
850 Ball bearing : 0,7gr (per set)

I've also changed the steel screws on top of the chassis to aluminium screws and this gave me a weightsaving of 13gr.

Gave me a total weight saving of 26gr :-)

The front spool (or Direct Coupling) for the TA07. Is there a lighter option for the spool cups?

I should have said ball diff. Is that what you are talking about? My 419 diff with lightened outdrives is 20.5 grams.

Has anyone tried the Ball Diff for the TA07? If so what do you think?
I just ordered ball diff and one-way going back to the 90's to see how it compares to a spool and gear diff.

It will be fast but you won't make many friends with that oldschool setup! When you tag someone who is slow into the corner yell "ONEWAYZ!"

Better yet, yell it before you tag them so they move out of the way preemptively

The bone stock front gear diff with 500k oil was heavy as heck!

Yes. TAM54544 saves 4 grams. still steel but relieved. An I believe that a Delrin cup with aluminum retaining ring for the TA05 is available but hard to find.
