Even the 48 pitch gears are now available in both Metric & Inches too.

Oops! my mistake, got the pitch rating mixed with the teeth.
yes I run 31 (64p) and the smaller 0.4p Tamiya Spur (93), with Cheetah Foams 40f 38r and the Tamiya Courage shell.
This gear ratio and pinion spur has now run for almost 4 hours, and as of yet there is no tooth wear from the mixed pitch ratings (only small stone debris damage).
Motor will thermal out on 32 before 6 minutes, where as with the 31 I can run 10 minutes with no thermal, and the lap times are faster than with a 30.
But then again this is England where the air and ground temperatures are much colder than many parts of America, so maybe this is why I can use this gear ratio.

I finshed building my F103gt and I have been making test runs. It seems that because of the diff design, the diff side wheel spins and makes the car pull to one side. I have reduced the problem some what by running the diff extremely tight. Are there any other solutions or suggestions. I am running on the street with a 540 silver can motor. My gear ratio is 93/25. Thanks.

try removing the excess grease from the bearings on the drive shaft, this will balance out the drag on bothe sides.

I'm sure to be interested in running at that sort of gear ratio.

In my country, it's hot and humid. 5.71 is what would run normally. Given a chance, I'd run around 4.9 ratio.

Are you running with a fan blowing at the ESC's Heatsink?

Tighten the locknut on the Diff Housing to the point that the diff plates (on both sides) only touches the diff balls, NOT pressing hard on the diff balls. When you tightened the locknut, hold both ends (Left & right) and the spur with your fingers. Then try to rotate the spur without diff assembly moving along.

Do this from loose diff first, this way, you will understand what I'm trying to tell you.

Also do check on the little grub screws that are holding to the rear shaft. They may be loose, making your car swirl to one side upon moving off.

Hope this helps.

Pretty nice and fast. Can max out my throttle, but only for a short while, due to the lack of really long straights.

Hope it helps!

Yeah... That's why I couldn't get my hands on one and started tearing up a pack to try it for myself.

using Novak's GTB fan as supplied

Just been told by my club that due to lack of entries in some classes they will no longer allow low entry classes to run on race day
So unless another 5 cars appear I will no longer be running this car.
