May be the extra weight of body post plus the body that settle the car a little...
nope... i only have a sport tuned motor to use on the car.

believe me dude, i tried all body shells... mazda 6, alfa, stratus, CLK, Enzo, i even tried a wedge body from a Kyosho V1RR... couldnt get it to work...

when i got the Courage, the car handles like my old Toyota GT-One TS020... it can take a corner like a touring car... already bought another courage body as a spare.

i think the secret is the enormous splitter/front wing on the body...

If you like the courage body...good for you. I do love that body untill I have to cut the both corner (lookers) that will only SLOW ME down on any track...then the rear of the body just flapping every time I turn...

Now...mount the transponder and compare lap times between the Courage and any popular used TC body like M6 or DNA2.....I don't know about you, but my laptime with TC is faster (without changing setting of my F103GT except adding bumper body post and screws..)

Just my opinion and experience........... I still regrad to cut a brand new Courage painted body @ TCS race cause those little side wing just simply NOT WORKING.

From what I used to run, a F103 with F1 body or a Lemans, it was always understeering. Very stable, but understeer, so I had to get myself suited to the way it handles.

hi Alfie!

ive been using the Courage on our indoor asphalt track. its got a long straight but its also got loads of tight corners so i can say its a combination of both speed and technical...

the car is ALMOST neutral with a hint of understeer off throttle going into a corner. i also setup the throttle on my TX so that i dont go full bore going out a corner...

right now im using sorex 36R with much more pink inserts in the rear and 40R with tamiya hard inserts up front. seems to work for me... will experiment with progressively softer compounds...

well i suppose your driving style is more suited to an F-103 with a TC body... to each his own like i always say...

maybe in the future i might be able to find a setup that will work for a TC body... but in the meantime... its a Courage LC70 for me...

Running with a 27T Stock outdoors I was using Sorex 28 front and 24 rear, both with Echo Soft inserts, but then again track temperature is lower here in the UK.
Hope to get some track time with the 13.5 BL tomorrow if the rain holds off.

the GT is very new to me...and I have never own any previous form of the F103....so I am sure there are THINGS that I don't know about the Courage body and F103GT.........may be the rubber tires, may be I am so used to driving the car like TC....must be something that I can change to make that body work.

Meanwhile, I have to keep using the Courage body cause for the upcoming TCS race...

Here is the 10 day forecast where the track is close to.
Currently 11C, and looks damp for the next week.

Anybody have any set up for outdoor asphalt? I'm running CS27 with med insert all around at the moment. Tamiya and 3 Racing parts.

Just back from the track
It was damp so grip was s---, had to run the Pitz D20 rain tyres.

The gearing for the 13.5BL was way out, I went there with 20/104, and even the last run before a big downpour I was up to 35/64 which may still be ungergeared.
Someone could have told me that a BL has zero motor brake, I will have to remove the RX so the lead can be disconnected just so the ESC can be set up for some drag brake.

I'll be assembling my f103gt soon. Do you recommend running it with a tight or loose t-bar? I've read other sources and one recommends a tight t-bar and one recommends a looset-bar. What works outside on asphalt?

Yes, you have to use 3 pieces of the tapered washers. This is to regulate the pressure on the differential and thrust bearings.

2 tapered washers are simply too thin to do the job.

Hope it helps!
