The real Question will be if the Retail price will now be over $500

Looking to get a tekin motor. Would the rpm version be best or the normal(assuming higher toque motor)? Also Looking to stock up on some spurs and pinions. I run a 17.5 motor on asphalt, I have no clue what basic sizes I should have in stock. I only have it setup with 96/52.

Default Question

Let me ask you Team Associated tragics something... Been quite awhile since the TC... Whatever .. Has won anything of note. How much do you put that down to the factory drivers and how much to the car??
By the way, it's Friday night here in Sydney and I'm working on my TC7, so I'm no Xray, or other brand, fan boy!

Well they've won the ROAR Paved Nats 3 years running. Keven is almost always top 3 not matter what event in North America. The team also has a good presence in Britain with all the BRCA stuff. It's been a while since they have had any presence in the ETS series though. I personally think the car is the most underrated one out there. A couple more top drovers wouldn't hurt either.

Is that an American thing?
Bigger world out there brother... Not discounting the importance of North American hegemony in keeping the world a safer place.

Nice straw man. He never said it was anything more than what it was, a ROAR championship. Nearly 580 million people in North America. While not ETS It is kind of a big thing.

The Tekin website indicates the rpm version would be your choice. 96 is a great spur for 17.5. I think that it will take some experimentation and chatting with people at your local track to figure out the best gearing. Having never run a Tekin motor, unless it was a huge track, I'd probably start my experimentation in the 49,50, 51 range.

All I can see as running changes right now would be adding the DTC in the rear and freeing up the front steering post

I feel that all the additions can be made as stated above in a running change. My only grip becuase I run a second chassis of another brand, it for AE cars to start using a ball bearing sway bar housing. Other then that, the car is a performer, no one will argue that........well except those guys who drive orange cars lol

Flex alloy chassis, yeah i'd go with that.
Precut top deck - why? Everytime we try it in the UK, we switch back to std.
DTC/ARS - yeah as an option it might be a nice idea, but it only works in very specific track conditions. Look at the brands that have it, their factory guys don't always use it. Definitely doesn't work on many (if any) UK tracks.
Battery hold down - yeah would be nice I guess. Not super critical, but would make things a little easier.
Diff eccentrics - why, not sure I understand what is wrong with them. The med high / high positions are pointless for me, but otherwise, don't see much of an issue.
Bearing roll bars - don't understand this one either, just adds a load of weight in my view, don't see any real benefits if i'm honest.

Anyone know any other brands that make the brass weight set (ASC31296) or similar to fit on the 7.1? Seems impossible to find one to order. Maybe I'll try Amazon

Is anyone running a fenix chassis (ASSOCIATED TC 7.1 - 2MM 7075 CHASSIS, 7075-T6)? I picked up a used TC7.1 and it came with carbon and fenix aluminum chassis. I put the fenix on and a buddy noticed my car was pretty tweaked. Stripped car down to chassis and laying flat if I push in the front of the chassis, the rear comes up 2mm. If I push in the rear, the front comes up 4.6mm. I know the website says some longitudinal bend is expected but that seems like a lot. Waiting for fenix to respond to email but thought I would put this out to the group
