I'd try a FDR between 3.8 and 4.0. I have found that my Trinity motors seem to run better with a little higher timing with lower gearing. Try both approaches to see what works better for the track you are running on. You have to also take the track into consideration... If there are a lot of 180 type turns... You may want to keep the gearing towards the 4.0 FDR to get the power out of the turns. Just keep an eye on the motor temps. Trinity motors can take the heat...
Good Luck!

Try a lower f/r toe setting as well , since your current settings might scrub speed, no matter what motor you switch to....

Here is a setup I have been using and things are going very well with it. I am running an old grey carpet that is 65 x 46 in size. The carpet grooves up pretty fast and we have better than medium traction by the main. We only get to run one day on this as the shop uses the carpet for other types racing during the following week and everything changes. This carpet is so old that it doesn't fuzz any more. My car sort of slides a little, but is fast, very much under control and I am enjoying it.

Is it possible to use the alluminum chassis in low-medium grip environments with this car? Can you mitigate the lack of flex with softer springs and oil?

I have gone back to the Graphite chassis. Couldn't make the aluminum work with our grey carpet. Its a 50/50 at our club, some guys went back and some guys like the aluminum. I think when there is a more flexible aluminium chassis available like the Fenix I will try it, but have no intention in going back to the AE aluminum chassis.

I am thinking on changing the back diff lube from 5000 to 7000 is that the right thing to do in 21.5 on the black carpet.
