After seeing the usvta AE performance, I will need to add another tc7.1 inspired short shock weight saving mod to my tc4.... It will be costly though.... Stay tuned....

I'll be running laps with the standard shocks in November, but I still need to find a way to make the tc7.1 short shocks work in my car to keep lowering the CG... Hopefully diggity designs will make one soon, since all that's needed is a carbon plate to screw on to the FT shock mount....
So much money was dumped in there already that a few hundreds more won't hurt at all.....

Default aluminum chassis

I may be looking at putting the Associated Aluminum chassis on my TC7 for VTA. I have heard different opinions on what is a good Aluminium chassis for this car. My question is, Is there anyone running the aluminum chassis in a VTA or USGT set-up? If so did it make a difference? Or should I just grab a 7.1 for the USGT and leave the 7 for the VTA? Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

PS if this has been answered I apologize, Is there a parts list for the TC7 to TC7.1 conversion?

I run VTA and GT, with TC7's...and with AE aluminum chassis Part #: 31652 for high bite carpet...if this is the surface you are racing on...I say do it if its in your budget....as far as 7.1 or 7 in USGT, the 7.1 is the latest greatest from AE, you can convert your 7 over, with some parts...there isn't a upgrade kit out but you can get the parts separate.

it made a difference in the fight against traction roll and corner speed....

Part #: 31760
Part #: 31741
Part #: 31742
Part #: 31743
Part #: 31744
Part #: 31762
Part #: 31761
Part #: 31652

worked pretty well for us

also for setup...I would start with stock setup 1st and then make adjustments from there

that is awesome. Thank you for that. Currently we are running on the old style carpet, with the traction at medium. I plan to go ahead with the aluminum chassis and DVC. I don't know if the 7.1 will be necessary.

Default Thanks for the info

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the info, I do have a aluminum chassis on it already. I will try one thing at a time starting with changing the gear diff from 3000 to 7000.
Thanks and God Bless

Short shocks is almost a must on carpet. Steering is snappier. Long shocks on carpet is really lazy.

Nah man, I really just want Bert to stop building the most expensive Radio Controled paperweight ever.

All jokes aside......... please believe I have quite a few. Bert should really just go out and have fun racing. The money that he has put into his TC4 could have gotten him so much track time that it wouldn't matter what he was driving, he would be that damn good...... Heck, he could of just bought a TC7 by now and called it a day.

I love building so I understand the passion to have that car that blows everyone away when they find out what it is. But come on man!

I run on same surface and the Sponsored AE guys said they like the carbon better than the aluminum. Aluminum is needed to calm it down on high bite according to them.

Nope. He's always complaining about how he can't get to the track because he can't afford to fix his Jeep, then he goes on about how he spent a fortune on his TC4 in an effort to bring it so far underweight he'd need a ton of lead to bring it back up. Custom fabricated axles out of aluminium and carbon fibre hinge pins... he's apparently allergic to steel. I'm wondering how long they'll hold up under racing conditions with him constantly bouncing off the walls.
