I'm not buying this for a second. Firstly, at most club races, there isn't time to run the same battery in more than one class. Also, we're talking 80 bucks for the top of the line Motiv pack.....30 bucks for a HobbyKing sport pack. Used options are around at most tracks as well.

Think of the money you're already spending (bodies, tires and sauce, entry fees, bearings, parts, etc....etc...etc...).

I like 1s racing.

Every car I own, 1/12th, all the up to my 1/8th scale nitrobuggy has it's own battery. Batteries have to be exactly the correct size, shape, and weight, to get car setup optimal. When I see someone really struggling with setup......yep, they're juggling batteries and one of them is 50g heavier than the other.

Just compare how many classes run 2S vs 1S and you will realize that there are alot more 2S pack owners out there vs 1S, and ,if the class dies, you'll also have alot more racing options with 2S....I had built my CRC genX10 a long time ago, but decided not to run it when they switched to 1S packs right after I finished building it.....The classes have been changing too often for me to justify putting money on a pack that might be obsolete when they again change their minds and go back to 2S....It's the new way of continuously changing things that hurts newbie participation....

All of your batteries are obsolete already.

Stockpiling lipo's is a bad idea. Pan cars have been 1s for a long time. 10years?

Not pan cars. But 1/12 has been 1s for a long time. Pan cars aren't just 1/12 scale. The only 1/10th scale class that I know that runs 1s is WGT-R.

Seems some will complain just to complain. First it was tires now we have rubber next Speedos now we have blinky next was motor now we have can am seems the only way some people will be happy is if we go to a complete handout car, battery, ext, ext. Run what ever appeals to u and have fun damn!

Such is the case of an ongoing online discussion. Be careful about how much weight you put on what's discussed here. :-) And how much you trust blinky.

That's why I don't run GT spec 12. Too many rules. Don't want a turnigy esc.

you guys are funny. Do you get tiried of complaining about everything. Now it's batteries. I run for Trinity and have been for awhile. The have an cheaper battery - Lipo Factory. I run them and they are just fine. Just wondering where do I send your Klennex's to???
Just to refresh your memory WGT was first a 4 cell pack. I tested a 1 cell pack for a year before it was changed. It was never a two cell class. The class is fine just the way it is - If you want to run 2 cells where you are at go to it. While everyone else is following the same runs than have not changed since the rubber tires came to be in this class.

I can't believe any of you are having a conversation about Bert's 2S opinion..

Honestly, I love running the 2S in the F1 class. It actually makes you have to drive the car and let off the throttle and let the car turn. World GT is fun to a point, but IMO I think it would be better as a 2S class.

The F1 guys should be the ones complaining like bert.

The new tiny 2s packs have a significant advantage.

There's still a minimum weight. F1 is still crippled by running 25.5. I'd love to know why that choice was made..
