I agree. The tbevo6 black edition came with the black aluminum blocks. The ff04 evo should have been the same.

Nice, I am also building mine. What size of 48p pinion and spur you are running? I plan to set my FDR at 4.5 but I have no experience with 48p gear. What I worry is the physical size of gears which I can fit them in. Coz I find that the motor slot does not have much room for back and forth adjustment. I find in rcMart a pair of Kawada 70T spur and 40T pinion, not sure if they can fit properly? Your advice is very much appreciated, thankyou!

This is a gear chart I put together for myself, you might find it useful (link to OneDrive). https://1drv.ms/x/s!Aq0DyLRFrfad7hUx...qCmXY?e=z1IIxH

70/40 won't fit, you will need to find a smaller spur.

If 64p gears are an option, I'm currently using 88/52 and I'm at 4.4 FDR

There is also this gear chart you can use. https://www.tqrcracing.com/rc_tools/gearing.asp

Q: I just went through the manual and saw that the ff04 is using the trf 418 suspensions arms (#54569), combined wit the ta05 ifs c hubs (#54031), why? would the trf 418 c hubs (#54580) work?

thanks

I tried it but dampers would rub with them, due to the stand-up configuration at the front. Eventually it may be possible, if you use a good amount of spacers at the lower attachment, but didnt try that.

Hey Tom! Can you share more pics of your FF-04? I like the 420 ball caps like the one your using. I also ordered for my FF-03.

Here are some.
Last thing, I modified, where the rear uprights. These are now exchanged to the 2° aluminium ones from 419XR.

These are not the SSBB. The shocks are the kit included normal Big Bores. I only exchanged the thread collars to the large diameter ones for use of large diameter springs. Also the spring perches are large diameter. The original small diameter springs were too soft for me, especially in front.

Is anyone still racing these? I just picked one up for our clubs open class where a few guys run FF with 21.5T motors for fun. Last thing I need is a body - what are people running? I'm mostly worried about getting one that will fit. I'm just running an old Speed Passion 21.5T until the end of the year, so next year will get a new motor and probably need a new body by then too (if not after the first race day)
