Strange, I haven't heard about any limited edition. My 418 had a lot of spares included, but my 419 just had 3 of each stabilisers, but it was a German kit, and it didn't have a limited edition sticker on it (it was also not sealed like a HK kit.
I actually just think it means limited kit run, not special edition. Tamiya uses the term 'bonus parts' as a sticker if they chuck extra parts in a box. Just ask Rc mart they are pretty good at letting you know

It's rcmarket price matching rcmarts on sale price. The other rcmart price includes free shipping.
Both kits are the same. Cheers Ordered the car, can't wait to get it :tire::tire::tire: Until I read one of the posts above, I didn't realise it wasn't 48p. All my pinions are 48 so I'm a bit gutted. This'll be the first car where I've had to change the spur gear. When people talk about spurs fitting, are they referring to the thickness of the spur or the mounting holes? If it's the thickness, is it not just a case of shimming until there's no play? |

About to order one and have a quick question:
What is the 'limited edition' one listed here: RC Mart also seem to have a regular version and a 'Limited' version. The limited version is $50 cheaper. Is there any difference? I asked RC Market because I have the same question ! me : what's means "Limited edition" for Tamiya 419 rcmarket : This car kit, Japan TAMIYA only making 1 batch. future not re-production me : in the box it's the same parts than the kit #42285 ? rcmarket : for this car kit Parts ("Limited edition"), but no option parts ! sorry for my bad english |
Runing my TRF419 for the first time tonight looking forward to it

The thinner spurs fit fine, the others just need shimming. the kit now comes with a little shim for the fatter spurs so the RW ones etc are fine. |

Everything fits well no issues, Going to Run it in 17.5 Blink this weekend and see if it has enough grip.. compared to 418 With Samix Carbon 418 |

3 stabilisers - hmm. I purchased a complete stabiliser kit at the same time - I hope I didn't just waste my money :D
Mine didn't come with any extra stabiliser bars. |
can anyone tell me if this fits into the 419?

Got about 1/3 way tonight. Slow and methodical as always.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...pssdr77ncd.jpg Seeing as it's one of the major differences from the 418 here's some differential assembly pictures. I'm building 2 at once. One will be 3000 and one 5000 as my go to weights for asphalt outdoors. If you don't have two diffs (or three!) I would highly recommend it. It's an easy tuning tool at the track for when grip changes and your rear end stability wanders (or improves!) through the day. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psf96brx5m.jpg I gave the housings a very light sand (1200 wet and dry) until the faces were buffed and then sanded all the gears until the rears were neat and all even thickness. Don't ask me to recite how thick. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psqpguiftz.jpg I'm using the red o-rings and just for Niznai, plenty of green slime :D http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psphqfhlni.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psbsu6fer2.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psdjkrbnbj.jpg And one thing I did notice and was pleasantly surprised by - the painful little screws are less painful now!! I tapped all the holes with a screw first before final assembly. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...pseatsxhjd.jpg At first I thought perhaps my 1.5mm driver was worn "in" as it fit the screw heads really well. But I found some of the older screws lying about and nope, the driver didn't fit in those - so Mr T has definitely either changed these or changed suppliers! Good stuff. Made assembling the diff a much more pleasant experience overall. Another "invaluable" one. A 3mm tap. Much less chance of stripping/cracking/crossing threads. The tamiya handle isn't wank either. It's a good thing to use. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psifuolas3.jpg A couple of observations. Steering Bridge. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...pszyaiwimb.jpg Mine didn't need an extra 0.1mm shim like my 418 did. Maybe it will after a few runs. Dunno. You'll note I'm using fluorine coated hex balls everywhere, so need to use extra/different spacers as they don't have the built in 1mm like the H5's do. Wheelbase spacers. The manual calls for 2+1mm on the rear arms instead of 3mm. Odd. I guess it allows more tuning without buying spacers. The "optional" 0.3mm shim (instead of 0.5mm) are perfect. No slop - just flop. Nice. Hopefully finish tomorrow. |
Jilles Groskamp leaves Tamiya :( !!!! see redrc.net

@cplus
Is that not a little too much Green Slime? Just like RCRacer have explained :weird: I have only a little on my O-rings and it's super tight, just pay attention to the description on closing the lid properly :lol: In my second Diff I have the brown O-rings with 900 Tamiya oil (will check on carpet) I also have the red O-rings in the dampers installed with some Green Slime and it is tight. Have the Samix Alu Chassis and on carpet a very smooth driving. |
No where as much as it looks in the shots. It's just a thin covering. But it's on all the mating surfaces. And I'd say it's *less* than Qatmix has used ;)
Red o-rings in the shocks?? Huh?? They don't belong there! You have clear ones and blue ones in the kit - clear provide a better deal, blue better performance. |
