Ken,

Also can you measure the top deck to lower deck height and the center pulley/spur gear shaft center to lower deck height. I want to compare to my 2016 BD7 how low can you go figures below?

Top of Top Deck to Lower Deck Chassis is 28.5mm

Center of Center Pulley/Spur to Lower Deck Chassis is 22.7mm

Hey Ken, is the bulkhead spacing the same as the 418? Also wondering if the shock towers would fit on a 418. I do have the Fibre Lyte ones but they are thin. Just curious. Thanks. Oh, and awesome report!

Thanks!
I don't have a 418, neither 418 towers here now so I could check. I will check once I get my hands on the towers though. The distance between the bulkheads on the 419X is 22mm.

Top of upper deck to lower is 29.5mm
Spur axle is around the the same height at 22.7mm.

It looks like the 419/418/evo6 arms are interchangeable with the 419 arms, you just get a differentry shock mounting location. Could be a useful tuning aid. As could be the super wide front end parts on the older cars.

You can use the Servo Mount from the blue EVO6  and it looks like you have the new TRF419X

Also you can use the Raceberry Shock Tower and the Shocks from the Black EVO6 ... Change the adjustment from your current TRF Shocks in Blue :p

@proffesor
The inner wider Front End do not fit.

Qatmix 05-17-2016 12:09 AM

The 417/418 had bulkheads that are 22mm apart. The towers have screw holes that are 27mm apart, so assuming the upper and lower screws in the bulkheads are the same distance apart then the 418/417 tall shock towers should fit on the 419x.

The 419x towers are thinner at 3mm like the fibrelyte ones that some of the TRF guys were running.

The Evo6 servo mount will not fit, it's made to avoid the middle shaft.

Sorry Qatmix, I tried to Servo Mount at my TRF418 ...

Should also fit on the 19er because of the V5 also fits.
Or the servo mount from 418 fits on the 419 model.

Qatmix 05-17-2016 02:26 PM

Yep, it will fit but the servo is 6mm further out with the Evo mount as the inner part of the Evo one is made to fit along the centre of the chassis under the shaft. The servo is offset to avoid the shaft.

I wanted to use it when I ran floating steering on my 419 and had to design my own part instead as it was too far out for my liking.

418 spur gear pully's

Does anyone know if the 419 main and drive pully's (the ones that hold the spur gear) will work on the 418? The ones on my 418 are cracked and I can't find the 418 ones (BA36 and BA37) in stock anywhere.

Curious what wheels/tires are on kentech's car in the picture of the 419X review?

Are they pre-glued tires?

You can use the TRF503 inner part, with the EVO 6 parts and the servo will be at the same position as the original mount.

They are Sorex tyres glued on some hard-to-find Tamiya wheels. Been used as photo wheels for the last few years :)
...because of my hate for dish wheels... :sneaky:

Unfortunately the TRF503 inner part doesn't fit as the screw holes in the 503 mount are @1.5mm closer than the standard mount, so you will need to drill inside the existing chassis mount hole which is pretty much impossible. (I took the mount off the 503 to test this a while ago as well) :(
