c-hub strength and slop is my biggest issue with the 419. The diff could be made a little easier to build without leaking too.

There's a few little things Tamiya could fix that would make their sedans a lot nicer to own, yet every year they seem to ignore them. It's disappointing.

* C-hub strength
* Leaky gear diffs
* Sway bar mounts

Maybe on the 420?

I do think it's cool they stole the camber link idea from the Pro5. That seems like a really good one. Not real sure about the black parts when you've got an exclusive on the nicest color of anodizing in the business.

How about ball cups with access holes ?

JimmyMac 04-27-2016 04:26 PM

Yeah, if I could only pick one thing to "fix" it would be chubs first!!

I like the updates. I'll be looking to maybe get a couple new cars cone November and the 419 looks good. I'd be interested in the new arms and hubs though. I have tons of 418/evo6 arms and hubs for spares now. I'm wondering if it's a new geometry or just a new material

JimmyMac 04-27-2016 04:50 PM

I could be wrong but I think it's partly geometry for the short shocks.

theproffesor 04-27-2016 05:14 PM

The Evo6 runs the short shocks now with 418 arms.

JimmyMac 04-27-2016 05:32 PM

True, but not sure if they are as short as the new shocks and/or that the arms are "optimized" for them.

JimmyMac 04-27-2016 05:35 PM

But then again, I also heard they were of a harder material. It's all posted on the translated Tamiya website/description.

I think they will skip the 420 designation

theproffesor 04-28-2016 12:46 PM

Maybe a limited addition green anodized TRF 420?

:lol:

OSherman 04-28-2016 12:51 PM

419X shocks supposedly (the way i understand it) are shorter than the 418/419/Evo6 shocks.. which requires a lower tower and new arms

Qatmix 04-28-2016 03:48 PM

No idea why they made the caps black. I can only assume they are the caps from the mini big bore shocks with a different cylinder and piston.

The C-Hubs are going to be the same, as will be the diff.

I will get one, but I've done so much on my 419 at the moment I'm not in a rush.

Since I started running on carpet, at a track with friendly boards, I have not broken any c hubs..

Let me elaborste, my car is still a mess on the track, trying to figure out a carpet set up!

It could also be that the X-ray hard bumper is really working.

I have my car now set up with Qatmix' suggestions, looking forward to trying it out
