The problem that occurred when I did this mod on my 6.1, was that the hinge pin is secured in the hub and then the pin didn't move free in the arm. It didn't bind with everything assembled, but if you moved just the hub you could recognize that it wasn't free. With sanding the pin the problem for sure could have solved. I just wasn't motivated to prepare the hubs all the time, because this was the time when the hubs broke very easily. The ones I have now are tough and hold on for a second season.

I am sure that the factory guys did something extra to make sure everything moves free, because the binding I experienced occurred on several front and rear hubs...

Folks, just thought I'd point out that Lunsford still makes direct fit Titanium hinge pins for the TC5 which, would you know it, are identical to the TC6 series of cars. they are precision ground and are IMO way better and stronger than the stock pins.
I bought a set to see if they were the same size and am happy to say that they are! Never going back to those rolled POS's again.

Although you found the problem, I would like to answer your question.
Many TC6.X drivers, including myself, run the knuckles reversed and the ball stud on the bottom. This was originally brought to our attention by Rick Howart who prefers to run the steering this way. It may or may not make the steering feel better/different. It's just a preference thing.

Dude!

Other than its glass so I'm hesitant to transport it to my weekly club races, even though it's tempered glass. It feels too pretty to be working on it. I find the last I used it at WCICS #6, I was constantly cleaning it (I sort of get OCD that way). It sort of made me miss my Hudy laminated board where I can drop tools and stuff on it with out worry, where finger prints and gipe don't seem to bother me, as much. Still it draws lots of comments at the race meets

hey viper, did you run your aux fan wire underneath your motor?
no issues with it 'un-levelling' the motor or issues with heat?

I'm Bing. I just started racing with the club, and have participated in one WCICS this season. Calgary will be my second, I'll look for you there and be sure to say hello!

I'm going to have to try a set of those Ti pins

My fan wire is ran ontop of the motor and under the top tray. I have covered it in black heat shrink so it's more visually camouflaged.

Yeah that is so true; I did compare my TC slop vrs an Xrays at a club meet and we both didn't find it that really too different; at least my friend didn't see an issue. I think the biggest improvement for this car is making sure the shocks are configured good and your RH and droop are to your liking. Go with factory settings with Toe and Camber and one should be good to go from there. Of course a good tire choice is huge.

It's not the most beautiful out there but I'm pretty content with it

anyone using a velcro strap to hold their battery down...
what did you add to hold the straps front and back?
this glass tape is kind of a PITA to use and i don't want to carry the roll of it back and forth to the track
