Nah, no chance for me to fit the 0.5mm spacers on the arms.
With 4mm of spacers I find a 0.3mm (I've got packs of 0.2, 0.3 & 0.3 for each size) gets them just right at the moment. One arm is actually borderline and could go 0.05mm more but that's getting too fussy for the arms I think.
Need to make sure the suspension balls are fully seated and the blocks centered. If you're having to manipulate the blocks when tightening, that sounds like fast track to tweak city to me.

cplus, I put it over the arms on top. I'm glad d16 posted a link for the 3racing shims. Looks like one 0.15mm shim just might be perfect.
As for the suspension hinge pin spacers, I did the same with replacing the 0.5mm shims with 0.3mm. Smooth and no slop.

Mine came out pretty decent as far as shimming goes. I did add 0.1mm shim between the arm and caster block on the left side. But that was about it. Other than that it's been better than past Tamiya kits.
I initially thought I had bad slop in my steering rack, but it turned out to be the servo. I was running the cheap Sanwa ERS-971. Turns out there was a lot of bearing play in that servo. I tossed on my 10+ year old Fubata S9550 and the rack play tightened up pretty good. I guess I'll have to wait for my Sanwa SDX801 A Gear to arrive. I think I messed mine up running it on carpet over the winter without a servo saver. Any other good suggestions for slop free servos? Fubata BLS551? Or the Futaba S9570SV?
What chassis do people run in blinky 17.5 and 13.5 on carpet? Stock chassis?

I also wish the steering posts were like the Evo6 where you can place a nut driver/socket over them. Expect the revised model to have them I would say.
I couldn't get mine off the other day for the life of me (and stripped a damn titanium screw in the process, soft like butter they are) and had to make it ugly with some pliers!

I'm (we're) referring to the 3x0.5mm spacers used here. Definitely no chance for them to be used on my chassis. If they work for you - great!
Yep, used all three spacers front and back.
Those steering posts can be a pain. You can etch the underside of the posts to make them a bit abrasive, so they bite on the chassis. Then press down on to the post when loosening the top screw. Seems to work for me.

That works! But less flexibility - but picking hairs really.
3 + 0.5 + 0.75 = 4.25mm
3 + 1.0 + 0.3 = 4.3mm.

Seems to be the way with TRF kits, Tamiya tool up and smash out one or two runs and that's it. Then the update comes in the case of the popular kits.
Did your kit come with extra/spare parts? Spings, sways, plastics?
