That's definitely good, it could get a little melty running those evil connectors.

SWEET!
Wow! Good to see Novak is on schedule with their release! Haven't had much time to check the threads as of late but for anyone who has tested either the GTB 6.5 or the GTB 5.5 could you let us know more or less how fast they in Brushed Motor terms? Last I heard the GTB 5.5 was like a strong 10-Turn and the 6.5 was a strong 12-Turn... these were used in Off-Road (the 2005 Mod Nats to be precise).

The 5.5 is more power than the 6.5 so i would think it would be stronger

Hey Guys,
5.5 = 8-9turn regular motor. A few international drivers have received and tested them. We've heard from 8-9 turn power "about" with the 5.5.
My experience would put the 5.5 around an 8-9, but I don't run much mod personally.
6.5 has more turns, 1 more, so it'll be milder, more like a 9-10 turn.
In brushed mode the GTB has all the tuning options a Racing ESC needs. Same like the GTX.
We will NEVER get away from big Caps. NEVER, big caps improve performance... PERIOD. The bigger and better the cap, the more improvement.
GTB comes Sans Connectors so pay attention, we know what an ESC looks like when they get connected backwards, and there is NO REVERSE VOLTAGE PROTECTION just like any other Racing ESC.
Regarding the exchange. NOPE never ever have we offered or even really mentioned offering upgrades from one ESC model to the Next. Hobby shops would never do business with us if we offered that. Everyone seems to bring that up in ever single forum about new ESCs. From what I know, Never Gonna Happen.
Thanks
Charlie

sorry if I am being thick (or lazy for not reading the thread) but are the Novak brushless motors compatible with the LRP system and vise versa?
Are they wired up in exactly the same way or do you need to change anything with conector lead thingy (sorry don't know it's proper name ). Obviously great if they are as at least different companys are keeping the same format....

This is on the Novak site,
New Model Replacement Program:
This program is designed for customers with old Novak models, or customers looking to upgrade their current model. If your product is not eligible for Direct Replacement, or you want your product replaced with a new product rather than a remanufactured product, Novak offers a New Model Replacement Program. Under this program, the product that is sent in for non-warranty service can be exchanged with a new Novak product. Replacement costs for the models offered are listed in the table below. Please note that Novak offers several factory-remanufactured products on-line which do not require a product to exchange.
Isn't that a trade in program? Charlie, I'm confused

JS- Thats not really an upgrade so to speak. And if you check out the prices that are listed where the text is, its only about $10-20 cheaper after the S&H.
So far everyone I've told about that "upgrade" has laughed at me...... It's a good deal if you have a broken something to send it, but I would not consider that an upgrade.
Yes, the LRP and Novak Systems are compatible. The Super Sport and Super Sport Plus should not be used with any motors lower then 8.5 turns though.
We've run the LRP/Reedy Motor with our ESC here for sure, but have not track tested the other way around yet. But they do function and operate.
I love the internet, you get folks who won't go look stuff up, then you get folks to look stuff up just to prove you wrong...
JS i'm directing nothing at you at all, just a basic observation from what I've been reading on many different message boards over the last few weeks.

Charlie: Would shortening the wires OK or is it not recommended. I will be using the GTB on my tourer and mainly all tourer has placement of the motor and esc side by side (xray, 415, rdx, TC4)
Just looking at the previous pic posted they do come with long wires.

You can shorten or replace the main 14ga wires for the battery and motor as much as you want just like any other ESC. I wouldn't screw around with the sensor (the small wires connecting the motor and speedo) wires, best bet with those is just to bundle them together so they arn't flopping around and getting damaged (or looking stupid ).

That's a very common question, that I never understand why... Of course you can shorten the leads.

ATXPro4 - Ooops! Your right! Thanks for catching that. The 5.5 definitely is faster than the 6.5.
Charlie- Thanks for clarifying the speeds of each in Brushed Motor terms! Now to decide which to get when they are both avaialble at our LHS....
