Thermal printing is definitely the ticket!! That way it's water proof and scratch proof. My experience is if you simply print the decal onto the top layer of the sticker then it can still easily be scratched off.

Water proof yes, scratch proof no. Although thermal printed decals are much more durable than then the inkjet decals most people make for themself they are by no means scratch proof. With a thermal print the the print is still placed on the print surface and as a result can be scratched. All those who have used F1 tech, AMS or even the Tamiya decals can probably recal a sticker that at some point had a portion of it scratch out or accross some other part of the decal.

For maximum scratch protection I would suggest placing a clear layer over the decal to provide an extra durable overcoat that would have to be scratched through before the abrasive could contact the decal itself.

How can you give up? It's usually pretty big at the TCS races. Regular club races don't normally run the F1's.

Why would anyone abandon the TCS F1 class, its the cheapest and the most fun? How many of those GT2 & GT1 guys can say they ran all nats on 1 set of tires and didn't break anything?

Most of the tracks in the SF Bay Area race the F201 as a separate class. We have many new people racing the class this year too. It seems to be growing, here, at least.

Man F201 is awesome.. these cars arre so cool !

I really love running it..its easy to setup and on the track it handles great.

There will always be a place in RC for a F1 Class..

For those of you who don;'t have one.. your missing lots of fun..

Too bad I couldn't run the tcs nats this year I would have given rebara a run for his money.. good luck on the rug in J land.

Did you get my setup from Ling?

I got a setup from Ling. However I don't believe it was from you. The closest carpet track to me is a five hour drive up north in Dallas. Quite a distance to test.
