Has anyone tried installing the TRF419 upgrade kit #54886 ? Tamiya said it will work on the Type-S.

So.. lets say you don't want to spend the $35 for the tamiya screw kit. Here's what you need to buy:

• M3 x 8 Button - 8
• M3 x 10 Button - 39
• M3 x 12 Button - 7
• M3 x 15 Button - 4
• M3 x 18 Button - 2
• M3 x 10 Flat - 7

Then Tamiya specific screws.

• M3 x 18 Step - 2
• M3 x 14 Step - 10

These are both available from Tamiya as low friction screws. I beleive they are "Tamiya specific."

Is that for Type-S?

No, just a plain TT02. The shock towers, shocks, will need different fasteners.

aw that clears it up, I was looking for a normal screw not those ones got me a little worried as I just built one and did not have the m3x18 screws, if you replace the kit ones with regular screws you would need some sort of flanged tube to go n place.

Flat head screws, are the ones with the cone shaped head, so they will self center in holes, and screw in flush. They are measured from the flat on top, to the tip of the screw.

Button head screws, are the "classical" screw head. Kinda dome shaped. They are measured from under the head, to the tip of the screw.

Cap head screws, are the ones with the round, barrel shaped top. These are measured from under the head, to the tip of the screw.

Often fasteners are listed with thread length, and shoulder bolts are a thing.

I have "tamiya specific screws" before the step screws because they seem to be a very tamiya specific thing. The low friction screws that tamiya sells are machine thread, instead of self tapping. So I felt the "m3" designation was.. still proper.

I'm looking to install the Tamiya #42287 shocks. Anyone know what springs work with them?

Is there a chart with weight for the springs? Wanted to know how the #42278 compares to #47317 springs.

Tippman Prolite, and stock class? Or am I reading to much into the username.

Team Associated Prolite and SC short course trucks. I tried racing them before I realized I should have got a truck made for racing.

tamiya makes a hex replacement for it anyway which tightens up the steering a hair.
