I don 't bash.lol I race only.. I used the ones that came in the kit BUT they did not come with inserts. it took me a week of googling to find the parts. after searching Rc mart was first to order.. a month later got em glued em raced it didn't like the looseness sliding... went to A-main got some foams they work great. Amain has some good stuff then I ordered some stuff on ebay and found nitro hobbies .com has great fast shipping and a lot of TT 02 items rctech ,com and about ten others in the usa has great parts. google or ebay for tires

I think inserts are my issue. What inserts did you decide on?

Don't forget that you'll need 26mm inserts.

None of the inserts I find online have sizes. Any idea what size these are?

All the Sweep inserts are likely 24mm as that is the standard today. HPI used to sell both 24mm and 26mm tires and inserts and my Tamiya TT-01e Mercedes 190e kit came with 26mm rims and tires. I was lucky to have an old set of foam (not moulded) inserts that I used. HPI part number HPI4676 and not ideal but better than no inserts.

Tamiya 26mm hard inserts are part number 53835, soft are part number 53834. The Vaterra cars used 26mm tires as well and Amain sells the tires with foam inserts for $13 either slicks or treaded.

Tamiya super grip tire 53214 made for asphalt.
Tamiya hard sponge set 53156. That's the only ones I found. Most others been discontinued.

Has anyone tried 64p gears in the TT-02

What question are you trying to answer? Yes, lots of people have/do.

rippen 02-26-2020 09:00 AM

Can you use the Tamiya aluminum motor mount still

Nerobro 02-26-2020 09:20 AM

In theroy, yes. If you're talking about Part: 54558 You'd need to adjust your pinion spacing by gear choice.... But that's silly when an adjustable motor mounts are $8.

SteveM 02-26-2020 10:20 AM

Your best bet is to purchase the TT-02 high speed gear set #54500 and a Yeah Racing adjustable motor mount. I have both parts still NIB.

Hobbywing quicrun 1060 esc

Hello....new to the thread. I'm waiting for the TT02SR to be released so I can get one. I need an esc for it and can't understand the TCS spec/novice class rules on which esc can be used. Can someone tell me if the quicrun 1060 is legal or do i need to use the tamiya tble02 esc? Thanks for the help

Can anyone confirm this. During the tamiyacup here I drove my tt02rr and it was not fast in lap time. After talking with the A final people. They say that they were 0.5 seconds slower with the diffs of the tt02rr and therefore rode with the diffs of the tt02r. I think it's a strange story and I think you have to adjust the setup to get the most out of it.
