Hi all,

Can somebody please confirm...

Are the front and rear belts of the TA05 series cars compatible with my TA05 MS?

Thanks.

I'd say universals up front, new spring set, and a hex screw set just for convenience sake.

You will find the car does very well out of the box. As mentioned, cvd's for at least the front will help. And if you are running brushless you may want to do both front and rear. The two main things I see most people break, including myself, are the rear suspension mounts. Mostly the forward mount in front of the rear diff. And the front steering uprights. The aluminum option for the rear mount solved my issue. And I would leave the front uprights stock as they are a cheap part and if aluminum is used you will be breaking arms more.

As for shock springs, the medium yellows seem to be a great start on all fours.

Hope this helps.

i would say replace any bushings with bearings and look into the trf shocks or at least the trf pistons, though i must say it can drive very well out of the box.

Does anyone know of a parts list going from the TA05 directly to a TA05 V2?

I have a hopped up TCS legal car which I bought last year off the bay that's been sitting on a shelf. There's a specific body that I'd like to run that will require the inboard suspension. I've seen parts lists going from TA05 to TA05 IFS but not one going from TA05 to TA05 V2 and I'm not familiar enough with the car to make the judgement of what's required and whats not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I m pretty sure that the TA05v2 has a completely new design chassis and motor mount and everything, so you can't just change it from a TA05 to a TA05v2.

The only parts TA05 and TA05v2 share are the bulkheads, steearing rack and shocks. Everything else is different. You can download both manuals from Tamiya and compare yourself.

Like the previous poster said, it's 80% different car so it's not worth the conversion.

I know because I have both of them.
