Default Alum/TI turnbuckles

Hey guys,
I just got my 05 and have read through this whole thread as best I can. A few have spoke/shown blue alum or Ti turnbuckles on their cars. Who's are they and where did you get them? I have two Tamiya P/N's for the 3X32 and 3X23, but no one seems to have them... and Tamiya doesn't even have the 3X28's.... Any help? I thought I remember reading one gent used Associated rods? If so from which car? I'd really like to build this car right the first time.

Thanks in advance.

Hy guys,

I'm wondering how you mounted the rear suspension front mount(aluminium). Did you have to file or something like that ?

Is the aluminum piece larger than the original from the kit? Which component do you want to fit in (tamiya nr.)?
I thought about ordering them to, so I hope they will fit.

Hi Neosan

The widest rear front suspension block which will fit is a "B" BLOCK unless you go for the x series of blocks which are not as wide as the standard blocks. That way you don't need to file anything away.

Hi WarpSpazm

Have you tried RCMART they have a full range of Tamiya turnbuckles/tierods in blue and red and in 3x18, 3x23, 3x32 and 3x35.

You can alos try RC CHAMP who have a thread on this forum they could also order it for you if they don't have stock at the moment I bought a couple of TRF 415 turnbuckles(9805929) from them and they were very reasonably priced

Well I'm putting together an order now based on your post. Does anyone know if the 32mm can be cut down to 28mm or will I have an issue with the threads not going far enough in on the rod?

Thanks

I found that the 28mm shafts weren't needed because the 32mm shafts can be adjusted into the correct length, if you're thinking of going for the lightweight suspension set then your turnbuckle lengths increase anyway and you'll need the longer shafts.

So any updates if this car will be able to hold its own against the top cars. Just sold my A car and just need more convincing if I should get one with all the options.

dan, if you are going to be at the hill tonight come talk to me, it seems to be able to keep up ok but if your going to go get all the hop-ups your better of getting a 415ms, would be cheaper for you...

Well,... maybe initially, but in the long run... Hell, the chassis is so cheap, I could afford to change a new chassis for each race !

Hi F1,

I was trying to mount the "D" blocks that comes in TRF415MS kit. As Skitee mentioned, we can use B blocks or go to X-series blocks...

btw, thanks a lot Skitee !!!!!

cheers

Talking Narrow "X" series Suspension Blocks!

Use the "X" series blocks. The narrower the suspension the more corner speed you will be able to carry!
Just flip the the block around for the bridge block for the front and add spacers!
