so what you are saying, if you buy a front one way diff, also buy a center one way as it helps with overall handling and performance?

Also while Im at it, im just wondering why there are so many people wonting to convert the ta05, into the ta05 ifs, to em it seams like a fair bit of mucking around to a car that already performs well if you just add a few upgrades. Swaping over major parts that work diffrently is silly, just go buy a ta05ifs imo
No problem

Cant say im feeling the need to upgrade my car to IFS spec, but then again I use a twin chassis 3racing one, which is good enough for my liking. To be honest, I doubt the IFS car would generate quicker laps than the standard '05.

Question for you all

Whats the difference between:

TAM53685 and TAM51064? They are listed as suspension blocks (they house the inner kingpins on the front end).

I think its to do with droop difference (but I really dont know ), but I thought I would ask as my LHS has the 51064 in stock, but the 53685 is out of stock for 2 weeks unless I order it and I need one like, tomorrow...

Don't know whether this has been posted before, but might be a fun thing for you TA05 owners to see...

Looks to be some kind of mini conversion for a TA05! Pretty neat in my eyes.

53685 is a 1mm raised "bridge" block to clear a belt. 51064 is a standard 1mm raised block. You can use a bridge for a standard block, but if you have a belt car, you need the bridge in the inner positions.

Call Jeff at Speedtech, it looks like he has one and I'm sure he'll get it out to you today if you can let him know you're in a bind, just have him Express Mail it.

finished 2nd in the B-main today at my carpet track. ran IBWC 4200s, CO27, CS27s and a DNA2. consistent all day, but the competition was fierce. included a few Xray factory sponsored drivers who were lightning quick (some had bearings in their CO27s instead of bushings, unfair advantage).

I am having problem with heat issue with my TA05R.
I was running a medium size carpet with 105t spur and 31t pinion, after 5 min race, motor gets bloody hot. Then I down size to a 28t pinion, still running very hot. Didnt measure the temp, but the motor + heatsink is hot enough that you cannot hold on to it for about 3-4 second.
My setup is GT7 esc, Epic 27t, EP4200.

Is it my driving style that cause the overheat or my motor have problem?

Could be under geared? Does it keep up with the competition on the straight...? Get a temp gun & check it... if it's below 175... you're good.

Turbo Joe, I think I got it TWEAK doh.. Since the shocks were built by the first owner the shafts lengths were mismatched. I havent run her yet-Rain-but the right rear was lifting off 1/4" before the left. Makes sense Thanks for your input.

how can i shave some weight off my 05R? i have gotten the LW molded chassis, and some CF parts here and there, but my car is still a good 60g overweight at my track. this gives me a big disadvantage to the guys who run T2s and TC4/5s who are able to make weight using lead weights. are there some low-stress areas on the car that can be dremeled away? i have seen in a magazine where they dremeled away some of the rear chassis braces. they removed one of the two "ribs" that span from the center to the outside of the chassis. what are some other ways i can reduce my weight?

Try running a small receiver like the spektrum micro, small speedo and keep the wires real short and neat.

Have you tried aluminum and or titianium screws ?
