Pulled 6th in the B main and I earned my spot there last night. For some reason I'm still burning my motors. I have a 3 racing extracion fan sucking air too. I tried to flip it but broke almost half of the fans so I stopped that.
I'm running a 26 tooth pinion and it's still heating up. Very tight indoor track last night. I'm running alloy heatsink, alloy motor mount, front universals, 3 racing front and rear suspension blocks alloy and blue belts. What did I do wrong? On Lexus SC430 shell too. As a side note, the front of the Lexus breaks off very easy.

26 tooth pinion? Is that with the stock .6 module spur (70 tooth)? Or did you buy the .4 module (64 pitch, 105 teeth)?

I've been running l/w suspension for 18 months on my old TB02, current EvoIV and daughters TA05. The old 9x5 bearings were crap, but about 5 months ago the Tamiya 9x5 bearings changed to a gold sheild. If you get the ones with the gold shield and also pickup 53891, bearings spacers. I have had many solid hits and since i've had the new bearings with spacers, no problems. In fact i've had 2 packets of bearings in the spares box for over 3 months.


Now if only they would find a better way to secure the front uprights, that pesky bottom screw/flange tube arrangement is the only thing that gives my regular problems (besides the brick wall at the end of main straight).

I see that Speedtech offers carbon fiber spacers for the shock towers? Are these necessary when installing the carbon fiber shock towers?

you can achive the same thing as the spacers, just space the shock balls spaced away from tower with washer/ spacers, you may have to use a longer screw to the back of ball, this helps to improve the angle of the shock it self!
both ways work though!

I'm VERY happy, I'm getting a TA-05 soon!!!! I love it so much!!! Does anybody have any tips or parts i may need to buy right away? I've heard mostly positive reviews on this car! How do you guys qualify in your clubs with it??

I have been thinking of getting a oneway. But for an 80X40 track is a oneway better or would a spool be better?

Sweet track!! Looks tight like the one I run on. I can't use a one way, so I don't know. Just wanted to comment on the track.

Is the reason you can't use one beacuse of the tight track or you don't like driving with one?

More likely personal preference. I've tried them all at a number of tracks & surfaces, as have several of my friends, & it really just comes down to which you're most comfortable with. If you're good at rolling through corners & avoiding the use of your brakes, then you could benefit from a one-way, but if you have to use more brakes going into corners(& in some cases if the track is just extremely tight), then all diffs or a spool may be the better choice. But again, it all depends on your driving style & what'll allow you to turn consistent laps. Have you driven any other kinds of cars on that track before?

Are you running a stock motor? A 6.0 final drive would do that. Try running a 21 or 22 tooth pinion.
