I usually run blue/blue 388-425 cst on our indoor carpet track when traction is high. With a little more droop all around it seems to settle the car in mid way through the turn, the only thing that did slightly suffer was going through the chicane. When traction is normal (medium) pink or yellow/ blue works just fine.

This Thursday i'm going to run a setup with aeration short shocks without FMC. I've been running a 15 on short shocks (without aeration) and FMC and I thought it was pretty good, but then I had an mechanical issue so I had to put my other 15 on the track. This particular setup was with standard shocks no FMC and it ran a couple tenths faster consistently on carpet.

Once in awhile on tracks that could potentially blow my servo gears up I would use the Xray servo saver. Majority of the time yokomo B7-204-SK servo arm (fits sanwa and ko propo).

Thanks - sorry if my Q wasn't clear. On the plastic tree sold with the car, there are two lengths of arms... 17mm and 20mm (For all 3 spline stds, 23/24/25). They both will have obviously different characteristics on the steering response, if only because of their size (but not only - the geometry of the command to the steering link is different too, then).

Good idea on the xray SS i must say... either because of track, or driver

Thanks!
Paul

Use the taller one if you require more steering throw.

Dude, the geometry of the command to the steering link bears no effect on the steering response (whatever the characteristics you talk about are - I have no idea apart from speed and arc/travel per servo throw, neither of which is affected by anything other than servo speed/setting and horn size). That is the whole point of the steering link. Doesn't matter what you control it with, you can use rods, cables, gears, heck, use Panda bears if you want.

Good luck.

Well - the angle of the steering link is what makes the "interesting" difference, the steering angle as a function of the servo input will be different with different servo arms and I'm not just talking longer arm => more throw. It's funny how people love to talk about 0.5mm of shim here and a quarter degree of camber there but oversee that one! Simple geometrics, really, dude

What I've found is that it "mellows" the steering response when you use the short one vs the long one. That is, of course when all end points have been readjusted to be the same. Not by much, and it may very well be just my imagination, but that's what I found.

Those are the exact conditions at our track

My 14' is setup for indoors only, and it is very easy to drive with the Yokomo alu chassis
I highly recommend it

I think it is ment for high grip, removing traction roll. Volker did use it at DHI, but Prumper did not.

Care to share your setup or one that's relatively close to yours?

Where have you seen setup sheets from DHI? Just curious - would like to check them out.
