Your next hopup/purchase should be a lower mAh battery pack in the 300g weight range. Getting that weight down will greatly improve handling and power. Based on the info that you've posted, it's possible that you may be 50 -70g over weight.

There is a plastic battery stop option that weighs about 1.5g w/ Ti screws. With the board barriers we use in the US, I just don't trust not having something in place.

Oh yea, forgot to mention that I am running my car in 17.5 blinky and converting it over to USGT class. I haven't figured out how to do so to get my weight down for 17.5 but I meet the weight for usgt

For balance the best weight battery I have found is 295g it is still a touch battery side heavy so I placed the ESC a few mm further out.

I would guess the perfect weight battery would be 285g.

Using HW ESC, futaba servo and Orca Tx 13.5T motor.

It probably doesn't help that the ORCA is so light

Does the spur gear adaptor and pulleys from the '14 fit the 2013 BD7?
I tore my rear pulley straight off the spur holder LOL. Don't know how it happened, anyone else managed to do this?

Thanks.

I place 20g (10g + 10g) under the receiver. This balances out my BD7 with a 6000 pack and 17.5 and fan.

Very little difference over other motors but yes it is a tad lighter than some and every gram can have an effect when it comes to balance.

Actually, there is a big difference in weight between an ORCA motor and say a Reedy motor. I think it was around a 20 gram difference last time I weighed them.

I don't have a reedy but the difference was about 5-9g to my other motors. Which rotor was in the reedy?

Reedy's have a 12.5 rotor,

Ill weigh my Orca and Reedy tonight, but I am sure the D3.5 that's still in the car was about the Reedy weight, and I have to add 10-15g if I put the Orca in.

Orca 13.5 tx = 161g
Reedy mk2 13.5 = 181g

The Orca will be a little heavier with the alloy end plate.

I measured 13.5T killshot (rpm), 160g so not much in it.

From post on here the D4 is 170g which is not exactly light.

Reedy appears to be pretty heavy in comparison.

I can confirm the D4 17.5 "Maxzilla" is 170g

Default changing it up

Hi race fans.
Been seriously considering changing to a BD7 from my t4'14.
I run low grip outdoors and have really been struggling to find the sweet spot for the xray at my home track.
Really after peoples thoughts thst may have ran both.
Im currently running 13.5 boosted for what its worth.
Look forward to your input
Cheers
Mick
