FDR range 13.5T blinky?
I'm planning to race 13.5T blinky with BD7'15 (ORCA TX motor)
What FDR range should I aim for when choosing a spur gear (I will buy a whole range of pinions that fits, since it's much less hassle to change pinion than it is to change spur)?
I know the specific FDR depends on the actual track I'll be running on, but between large flowing outdoor asphalt tracks and technical indoor carpet tracks, what is the maximum/minimum I should need?
Would a range between 4.2 and 6.2 be sufficient? Or should the min be lower / max be higher?

You can't really cover that range with one spur only. The adjustment of the motor is not that much and some ratios just jump too much changing pinions. You'll find soon that another spur (or a few) are needed. In actual fact, changing spurs allows a finer adjustment than changing pinions.
For our track for instance (large outdoor asphalt) we are in the low 3 to 3.5 FDR.

That's 48dp. Naturally the gearing jumps would be bigger there.
I'm using 64 dp, and the Yokomo chart for that actually shows the numbers I gave (ok, 4.200 to 6.176 to be precise) for a single spur (105T). And the steps are reasonably small in 64 dp as well, IMO.

I use 96 or 99 teeth spur 64dp (panaracer). Pinions between 41-46. Depends on track and motor.

For 13.5 you realistically only need 2 spurs, a 96T which is readily available and a 97T to give you some in between ratios.
I usually carry pinions from 46 to 56, this gives me a good range, from high speed outdoor tracks to small indoor tracks. 4.1 to 3.4 should be enough range for an Orca TX, but you may need to go lower on really small tracks, which you still can do with the 96T spur.

Yes here is AUS we are crazy. I have used ORCA for the last few years and yes i run about 3.7 fdr in 13.5 with TX motor for bigger tracks a bit lower for more speed motor reaches 83 which is what I am advised to stop at.

I read "outdoors" and didn't even consider 64p as an option.

Haven't run 48p since I was new to the hobby
Never an issue with 64p
