Exactly, and with the grip levels most of us race in, it makes you wonder if Yok will ever market those prototype parts.

I agree, I think all these updated lowered and smaller shocks will show it's advantage in high bite indoor tracks. Or maybe they need to refine the set up with the new components.

The X-ray T4 proves we can have shorter shocks, with larger bodies that will have similar qualities to the 'regular' shocks.

I'm looking at getting the T4 shocks, and modifing some shock towers to lower everything on my car. It's extremely simple to do too!

That's 8mm shorter. If you use Serpent shocks that's 6mm and you don't have to buy new springs........Not that I'm trying to work on this.

Going to do the same thing here. CSO make all black xray t4 shocks. Orange shocks wont look nice on the bd7!

Ride m chassis springs (21mm height) should also fit these shocks.

I have already had 6mm lower front and rear shock towers made for my BD7 and using the new Serpent short shocks which are 6mm shorter than standard. These shocks let you use normal Yokomo, ride, HPI, tamiya springs.

If you get the shock towers made 8mm lower, then you will be able to use the T4 shocks or the T Shox designed for the T4 car.

That is my next tower modification to try. Goiod thing with the BD 7 is there is no problems with the rear links hitting on the body mounts when lowering the towers I will test using theT4 T Shox with the T shox carpet springs.

later,

Calvin.

Took a while to realise you were talking about the picture from the additional manual sheet...

Only beaten by the line "The overflowing oil is politely wiped off!" when talking about filling the gear diff.

In saying that the manual very clear pictures and I had zero problems following it and building the kit.

It is the diff oil thickness couse to the lower temps give troubles
at the start of the race, after 3 or 4 laps the problem was gone.

Default MY BD7

Here are some pictures of my BD7 fitted with custom made 6mm lower front and rear shock towers made from 3.5mm gloss CF. These were made by Bezerk RC who has a FB page.

I have fitted the new Serpent short shocks which are made 6mm shorter and allow normal springs to be used. The car originally had yokomo pink up front and yokomo blue rear. I ended up at TITC with blue front and rear. These were given out freely by Team Yokomo to all yokomo drivers, as well as a BD7 decal sheet and a free Yokomo T shirt.

I also had a pair of 8mm lower shocks made today which I have included in the first picture. Others are of the 6mm lowered towers.

Hopefully the new 8mm lower towers will arrive tomorrow and I will test with the T Shox this weekend. I was fortunate enough for Andreas, from T shox to be at TITC and he built the shocks for me with enlarged 1.3mm holes in the pistons and short firm rebound springs fitted. Must say they feel very smooth. the proof will be on the track.I did not use at TITC as I did not have the correct size lower towers to fit these too.

Later,

Calvin

thats right. in the second main there was high winds approx up to 90kmh gust and lots of sand. conditions throughout the event were difficult as they sprayed sugarwater on the track for more grip but due to the high humidity there thats always there, it made for very slippery conditions in general in addition to the sandstorm on sunday.
