i love nitro coz the smell and sound is just too awesome to be true.and the freaking top speed also is a factor why i chose nitro.but the most important factor for me is,run time.with ep,u play for 5 minutes and charge ur battery for 30 minutes.if u have gp,put the fuel in it,and ur ready to go.if u got no problem,that is
.and i dont mind the oils and other things that may dirty the car,i would love to clean it.the way i look at it,maintenance is part of the hobby,so make full use of it.at the end of the day,u need LOTS of CASH to stay in this hobby.i think nobody will argue with that

First, I think you forget a comm lathe ($100-200) for the electric budget.
Second, I am running EP right now with some interest in GP. What refrain me from GP is the fact that I cannot do club race by myself. You need to have a "mechanic" or whoever to refill you fuel in the 30 minutes race. In EP, I can do all the race by myself.
Last, this is expensive hobby either EP or GP, so, I don't think $$$ is an issue here, I think we just have this little debate for a little fun

The new breed of 1/12th bodies aren't too bad, but I even hate 1/8th Lola bodies. But I got a feeling that CEFX might be looking at doing a more "current" 1/8th body, like the Courage.... Last time I asked Josh, he just kinda told me "Wait and see...." with a smile.

I'm sorry, I completely forgot the engine and pipe. So tack on another 400.
I only did the numbers for the equipment on the chassis and in the pits for one race. Anything more than that and it is all speculation. You can win regional races with 1.165 cells. A $50 stock/19turn tuned motor.
I didn't include the 15 electric motors I have, and the 8 battery packs. Or the nitro guys with 5 Sirio .12 engines and 4 pipes. Both cars have running fees (ie.tires, bodies, fuel, broken parts, cleaners) so I didn't include that.
I'm still taking one charger to the races. And I haven't had any problems. But I will get another in a few weeks so I can break-in and charge at the same time.

You can just see how bias people gets. Come on, be fair here. When talk about gas equipments, you throw in the most expensive crap that's not needed and on electric, you say don't need to use top of line stuff. I don't even use 1.16 batts for club racing, not alone regionals.

I have been with a electric now ever since I got back into the hobby.
I just got that sinking money feeling with electric. But now, hearing how gas is the same, it has made my decision easier.
I'm sticking with electric and going with the T1FK05.
I'll get into nitro later. Maybe start with a basher nitro to see if I like it, then a racer later on.
Man, you always hear about "The Debate"
But this thread really shows us how heated an issue it is.

there are more electric racers than nitro racers so i guess.....welcome to the club of the majority....im telling you, with ep, there is no room for mistakes....playing catch up after you crash your car is sooo hard......the 5 minutes in electric equals the 30 mins of gas racing.....you are on your toes and luck is not big a factor as in gp racing. good luck.
