Any drawings for the upper deck??

Also an advise , the lower deck looks like a carpet deck , also with the 3mm thickness , it will be very unflexible !!!
I suggest to keep the 3mm but to find some points to dremmel , maybe under the servo or speedo , also something for th emotor maybe??

I like my car with a lot of steering and with unflexible decks but i think that this will be too much !!!

Hi,

@mwoods: We have to see whether it will work or not when the outdoor season starts. But you can always generate grip with the suspension.

@Zacharopoulos: Drawings of the upper deck will come later this day.
It looks like a carpet chassis? It is a carpet chassis.
I don't think the chassis will have any cut outs beside the batteries. But you can get the same chassis in 2.5mm, 2mm, 1.5mm or even 1mm. Enough flex.

Cheers
Chris

Here's some pics of a chassis I made for my own personal use. It is 22mm narrower then standard, batts moved 8mm closer to center, servo moved 8mm closer to center, drive train lowered by 2mm, topdeck lowered by 3mm, roll center remains the same as standard.
I have only had limited runtime with the chassis, but the one time I had it on the track it proformed extreamly well.

Hi,

@Rowdy: Nice work.
I understand how you moved the spurgear more towards the motor (nice spacer) , but how were you able to move the servo 8mm closer to the centerline without removing the inner servo mount?

Cheers
Chris

Edit: Attached the top deck.

Hi,

I will order my chassis on Friday (if anyone wants one for sure I will order one for him aswell).
A narrower chassis should work a lot better but you will always have the problem that not every servo will fit perfectly. But I will see what I will do for the outdoor season...

Cheers

Hi

I have just bought a Yokomo MR4TC BD BRCA Grainger Special Edition...

I was just wondering if there any do's or donts or tips when building it?

Thanks
Stu

highwayman - I lowered the drivetrain by milling 2mm of the bottom of the bulkheads. I then shimmed the inner camber linkages back up to their original position to keep the same roll center.

speedy-932 - I did remove the inner servo mount and just use the outer one and shoo goo to secure the servo in place. Also I connect all the electronics together with d/s tape which seems to help hold everything in place nicely.

I'm very keen to give the chassis some more track time, but unfortunatly I haven't been able to find the time lately. I was a little worried about how the changes would effect the cars handling but i must say it performed well above what i had hoped for.

Nothing in particular, just seal the chassis and build away. The rear driveshafts will break if they take a heavy blow so be careful.
