The way Paul L. explained it to me was that the bigger pulley didn't have the belt pulled around a smaller area creating a tighter curve in th belt. That's why when we go from the 16 to the 18 bigger belts are needed. If we tried to use the same belt it would be super tight. I might not be explaining it the correct way so hopefully someone with a little better knowledge in this field can come along and help us all out.

Default Rug Rubber??

OK guys. WCE chassis on a tight, low traction carpet track - rubber tire, 13.5and 10.5 lipo. My question is; spool, 1 way or diff in front??

Forget the one way. Spool would probably be best, but depending on your set up and driving style, a diff might yield similar lap times. Give both a try and see. In any case, loose the one way.

Not sure if this has ever been discussed but I am going through my cyclone fixing some things and such. I had to replace a cv axle because I bent it (is there a fix for this?) and having a over abundance of spare pro4 axles decided to try them. The fit with the exception of the right rear which needed to be shaved down to provided clearance for the diff nut. Being longer I would imagine they might not hurt the outdrives as bad since they can't spread them as easy. With two races running 13.5 I have yet to see wear on the rear...I haven't tried the pro4 axles in the front yet though.

Spool in front will be helpful getting out of those tight turns. If you run a diff and your competition runs a spool you will get eaten alive coming out of turns. Especially with todays brushless torque machines. If traction is too low the aggressive nature of a spool may be too much. In that case, the diff might be the better choice. Just make sure your diff is TIGHT.

Most of the time it's a spool for the win!!!

just like shaun said, spool for high bite track, and if your track uses wood barriers, forget the spool, if you tap them once the car will explode.

I run 1.35 rubber tire, WCE chassis on low traction carpet with a one-way. Everyone runs a one-way.

If you need a great asphalt set up go to www.gearchart.com and look at Scotty Barnes Reedy warm up set up. It's awesome and works on high bite and med bite outdoor tracks. The out drivers Korey is talking about are the stock one's that come with the pro-spec diff.

To me you should, while holding the left rear wheel and spur, try and crank over the right rear wheel, and if you can't then your about right, but if you can, keep tightening the diff screw until you cant crank the rear left wheel and should be about there. but the diff needs to be run in for about 30 secs then checked, or it may start to slip, and should be a smooth action
