Really really basic - but you've make sure you've got the correct number of shims in there?

Esp. in the thrust assembly - it's easy to leave a spacer out and end up with a tight diff. I've done it a few times before on occasions when my brain hasn't left work, with the rest of my body.

Also - I find newly rebuilt diffs require a run to break in and become free and smooth again.

Yeah everythings were it should be, im pretty sure theres a worn part that needs replacing, im starting to think it probably the 2.4mm balls, as the d rings and thrust assembly is new.

So far ive changed the diff plates and the thrust race(twice ), if any one has an idea what the tight gritty feel might be id be very gratefull. Also if anyone knows of any decent diff covers that might make it easyer on the diff in future.

Tom,

check the bearing/bearings inside the diff, as they may be damaged, dirty or collapsed.......

I had this on a Alloy diff ...pissed me off royally as i rebuilt it 5 times, silky smoothagain now i replaced the bearings

You don't need different CVDs. The outdrives come with the blades to go over the current CV bones.

Not sure if that holds true for the V1 bones, but I know it works with the V2s. I would assume so since the V2 bones fit in the standard Delrin outdrives without the blades.

Thanks,do you know the # for the plastic sliders?

When you are saying sliders do you mean the blades?

I had trouble getting them in the states. Luckily I found and awesome guy on here that was in Japan and brought me back some. If you get the alloy outdrives like those from the surikarn/hara kits they come with a set of blades.

I'd love an Orange car - esp as my body scheme consists strongly of Orange. ;-)
