I “F-up” everything I touch. It’s a gift. Put me down as a beta-tester. If it can go wrong, it will go wrong when I install it.

People like you are priceless in the software industry! Your skills should be in huge demand! Used to work in support for the software side of medical industry. I can't think of a number big enough to count the times where the customer has an issue with the software install and the development/testing/validation teams come back with "We've never seen this behavior before" as an answer...

I spent the last 15 years of my career in a tech related job using very specialized small market software. I got to know several developers on a first name basis.

In my experience it's easy to view source using a tool like that but it often won't compile again. It would probably be a lot of work to reconstruct.

Rest in peace Bob.

He obviously has spent a lot of time on his software, a true labour of love. Many people have first started their journey learning about roll centers and shimming through his software and videos, and it would be a massive shame for it to fade into obscurity.

Personally I think there are a few options:
- family or friends upload the full source code to GitHub for us to recompile, update and learn from it.
- we find an installer for the latest version and just use that
- someone reverses the binary and recompiles it succesfully

Hopefully we can figure something out, and keep Bob's legacy usable!

RIP Bob.
Thank you for inspiring me to get into computer simulations. I remember watching the nitro motor simulation video when I was getting into RC vehicle sims. What a HUGE bank of knowledge in those videos. It showed me the simplicity of breaking real world items down into measurable data.

I wish he would have just released all the code and shared it. What difference does it make given he's no longer with us.

I'm sure his Estate doesn't see it that way. When closing out an estate, everything has a monetary value.

Hi,
has anyone made any progress on making the installation package?
My holidays are coming up, so I could help out too.

Well given his last FB post, looks like he was trying to give it away. What happened?

Not on my side. I had gotten the files onto another pc for testing, however when the app launches it tries to activate using a URL that doesn't exist anymore. So it fails.

And to make matters worse. The laptop that was running the app successfully decided it was time to check in again and even my good install doesn't work anymore. My guess is eventually nobodies install will work... Unless someone can figure out how to remove that part of the process. But it wasn't in plain site, and why should it be?

, the Probate Court would most likely see it as an asset with value that would have to be distributed to the heirs. At this point, everything is speculation.

(***** comment deleted no need for that**** any problem with my decision feel free to reply and i can give you 60day vacation or maybe longer )

No. Unfortunately I don't have it. When I realized what had happened it was too late.
