there is a plan in there....but for USVTA, rules work so well that even I see the formula staying the same, which is a good thing.

Reedy esc, is more likely geared towards non-USVTA, next esc will have USVTA in mind....got to get the 1st one out that everyone uses, then to cater to the spec specific classes....

but its coming...look for it soon

I posted this in the TC4 thread but I think I'll get some good input on this thread also.

Is the Reedy Wolfpack the hot lipo for VTA?

5000 Mah Wolfpacks come in at 261 grams compared to a normal 5000 Mah coming in at 300 grams.

I was thinkning it would be easier to add weight to the lipo side side of the car since everything is pretty tight on the electronics side.

Sorry for the VTA rookie questions....

I don't think there's a hot-ticket VTA battery. Everyone has their preferences and you'll find just about every lipo brand out there. My Team EAM lipos weigh in around 260 grams, plus they're 70C so you'd expect a bit more punch out of them than a 25C pack. Obviously, if you have multiple packs it's a good idea to make sure they all weigh the same so your car consistently checks in at 1550g (if your club runs USVTA rules). My 40C 5Ah Gens Ace are hefty at 300 g, as are my non-USVTA legal Turnigy 65C 6Ah. Getting my car to weight with my Gens Ace packs means I have to add weight to my EAM.

Does anybody know what the results were from evaluating the Tekin Gen2 RS Spec Edition ESC for USVTA purposes? I thought I read that it was being looked at in early-to-mid October. Was a decision made one way or the other?

The Reedy Wolfpack 5000 25C lipo is a great pack...it stays very consistent during a run. Some other packs are more powerful in the beginning and fade a lot during and at the end of the run. For me that's a bad thing cause the car will drive different.

I recommend the Reedy Wolfpack 5000 25C, winner of the 2013 Halloween Classic VTA class

Ok I'm done now. I just had to get that off......

Do you think the battery rule will change in the future? From what I am seeing, a few places have commented when I asked that its getting harder to get 5000mah packs that are reasonably priced. some packs that are excellent for the money are like 5100mah, etc.

No worries if it doesn't, but was curious if its something being looked at as tech and mah advance so you don't end up with speciality "5000mah" packs.

hey Will my friend, I was joking...as much as Im AE/Reedy, I see no need to change any of the rules...If you end up at a ROAR VTA race, go for it...but most likely Ill still be pulling the GTB2 and Novak Ballastic 25.5 to support the USVTA...no traitors here...lol

not likely due to the amount of lipos in and under 5000 all over the place...Companies like Reedy are putting packs out like the Wolfpack 5000 25C just for us...also EA does it as well...the demand is there and ppl see it and are trying to fill it....

Battery Giant,Trinity,EAM,Reedy and others understand the need for 5000 packs for USVTA racing...
